Better late than never?
I haven't been in the outfit creation mood lately, but decided to rally myself up to style this long cardigan after unearthing it last week.
Cardigan story: I bought this Dries van Noten, sparkly green long cardigan in a second hand shop many years ago. Basically I cannot resist Dries van Noten, particularly when found in a shop that almost exclusively carries mall brands, for a ridiculous price (literally could not have been more than $20 but probably closer to $10). The only problem is I don't wear long cardigans, and I consider this shade of green among my worst colors.
Outfit story: Inspired by the Pantone color of the year and an Instagram influencer I decided to mix this vintage magenta (?) silk top (Mila Schon, thrifted long ago also). I was rather please with myself to have finally worn this thing!
Close up to show colors next to my face, although the light is questionable. What do you say, should I ever wear this cardigan again ?

I like the colour clash you’ve got going on, and don’t think the cardigan is a problem with your personal colouring.

I’m wondering if the topper would work with some of your swirly/floral Gucci-esque items that have green/yellow in the mix?

I don't think the cardigan is washing you out at all in the photo! The color of the silk shirt underneath and/or your earrings next to your face seem to be enough to me to perk up your coloring.

I love Dries too but don’t own any. Jealous!
I really struggle with cardigans. I prefer a long cardigan over a long dress or jumpsuit, long line over long line. Over jeans and a top it feels too “loungewear circa 2012” to me (the dreaded waterfall cardigan and Uggs mommy-blogger look—— quite functional, but not to my taste). But this color and sparkle are great, so there’s no of mistaking for lounge wear!

I think the pretty purple makes the statement, and the cardigan makes a soft background. So it me, it works!
And of course, Mardi Gras colours are always happy.
You have a great outfit there.

I know what you mean about warmer greens being hard to wear, J (Stacy and Clinton used to say that "condiment colors" were tricky) but this one looks good to me. Maybe it's the sparkle.

The cardigan is beautiful and to my eye it works well over the purple top. However, as usual, the most important thing is how you feel in it - if you don't like the color on yourself, I would resell it.

I love this whole thing - the silhouette is amazing. Agree with the comments about the colour ... the green may not be 'in your palette' per se but the magenta does the work there so it all balances out and makes for a cool colour combo!

I think this looks great! Love the cardigan (I am a cardi lover) and don't see a problem with the color. Fun mix with the magenta.

I love this color and don't have problem with it on you near the face either but for me it needs some whites rather than blacks! I surelly am set for more fresher springy looks per the moment- so why not pairing it the classic way with a crisp white shirt/graphic tee- or infusing some whites with the shoes, bag or even the bottom (white jeans?).

I think it works pretty good with the magenta, and I think tops that have some white and/or black in them could work with this cardigan as well.

I laughed at that "condiment colours" line -- mustard and relish definitely don't work on me but I can wear ketchup!

You look fabulous! This is a magical pairing of colors and the silhouette looks really chic on you--love the pointy boots as the perfect cherry on top! And yes, I do love Dries van Noten (thanks for the shout out, Angie :)--he does seem to favor all sorts of kind of "icky" greens, which can be tricky, but you handle it brilliantly!

This 'condiment avocado' green totally works on you! But I'd be happy to take it off your hands if you don't think so lol!

I have a deep purple silk top like yours (is yours also a t-shirt/ grown-in sleeve?) & I like to wear it with green, brown & orange. For you though, I imagine it would look great with a more greyish blue or pewter finish?

What a great piece, and I love how you’re styled it. I think combined with the eggplant (?) top it makes the color work better for you than if you had paired it with something neutral. What an inspired combination!
