I have not been on the forum recently, as my computer got ruined by a power surge and although in the last few days I have been able to read YLF by dint of a new phone, writing anything seems not possible.
I have also been very busy and preoccupied as I mentioned in my thread of a few weeks ago http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ifechanges

Our house is a wilderness of boxes and we are travelling frequently up to the city we will move to (a 21/2 hr trip one way) to organise various things, including 2 trips up for me for job interviews

One piece of news is that I will be offered the job I mentioned in the last thread. It will be a big change - back to working full time in a corporate environment - and I daresay might require some YLF dressing advice!!

I haven't shopped at all - I do need clothes but getting the time and mental space to do it hasn't happened yet.

Thanks for all the encouragement. I am encouraged by having the job, though apt to be nervous as I haven't done this type of work since 2004 and not worked fulltime since 2002. I am pretty nervous about accommodation as there is a housing shortage at our destination and rents and house prices are high. We are staying with my mother initially though, so I know we won't be on the streets!

Gingko, my older 2 daughters (nearly 10 and 7) are not pleased about the move and we have lots of sadness. The youngest (5) says she is excited and pleased but has the least grasp on what will actually be involved!

bj - I am in WA and am moving within the same state. You might be thinking of Katiepea, who is in QLD.. As for school, we have an interview on Tues with a new school for them, and yes that will be a big transition - they are very happy at their current one.

I missed your original post, so I'm glad you sent an update. My DH spent 10 years in a church plant, and I'm well aware of the blessings and challenges involved! It's encouraging to have family nearby and a job lined up! So many changes at once can we overwhelming, but new starts can also be so powerfully wonderful!

We miss you, but will be ready to help whenever you start assembling a work wardrobe. No blue shirt this time?

Anne this is so exciting. I know there is a lot going on but one day at a time. When we moved 2 years ago DS (8 at the time) had some struggles settling in but church life and our new church family definitely helped us all settle in.

Thanks to those who chimed in on the last few days! I was up in the city - today we had an interview at the girls' new school. Seeing it is making them a bit more positive about the whole move. Then we dropped nearly $700 on school uniforms and bags!! (this was hard for frugal old me!!) with 4-5 pairs of shoes still to get.

DH will have the computer back at work tomorrow I expect, so I may not be able to write much here, though I can read your responses.

We also moved last summer. Almost a year later we are just starting to feel more settled but it is a long process. The new job sounds exciting and hopefully dressing will be a fun distraction from the everyday chaos. Keep at it one day at a time and I will be thinking of you and your family.
