Hi all I wasn’t sure whether to post this outfit but since occasions are being mentioned... on Saturday night it was only our second good friend to have a 60th birthday party. We are both 58 so there will be more in the next few years. There wasn’t a dress code but we were asked to “bring a plate”, “BYO alcohol” and “bring your dancing shoes”. I’m not sure if bring a plate is a peculiarly NZ tradition or more widespread, but it means bring a plate that has food on it, usually finger food, to share. At least it is not so sexist as it was in my childhood when invitations used to say “ladies a plate”. Still trying to wear all my winter clothes this winter, this was a chance to wear for the first time this winter my red top/lace skirt outfit, partly as my red vintage shoes are quite low heeled and I thought good for dancing. Neil wore his nice new dark jeans and a new casual black jacket. Pic 2 is the last time I wore the outfit, winter of last year. It’s not exactly getting much wear?
Standards of dress varied hugely at the event. I was among the more dressed up, how I prefer to roll. We had fun and managed a bit of dancing
