Over a year ago I asked for YLF input on whether I should keep this dress http://i297.photobucket.com/al.....0_7525.jpg which was a handmedown with underarm stains and a couple of sizes too big. General consensus was nay.
However before I donated it I gave it a thorough wash, possibly bleach to get rid of the stains and not only did they come off but it shrank a little. I began to see possibilities.
When I got given my sewing machine recently I thought I'd try altering it. I
1) pulled the shoulders up a bit
2) sewed the crossover between the breasts
3) added seams to in the middle of each side of the back (this was the major alteration)
4)took in the side seams slightly
Now it fits and I am wearing it all the time and getting compliments on it!
