Am I too old for this grunge look. .

I never feel quite so comfortable unless I am in jeans all black or in dark colours ...I'm hoping I can still wear this when I'm 65. I sometimes wonder if I should stay on the forum if all I'm going to wear is black.

Absolutely you should! Some of the beat dresses fabbers wear all black (see Deborah for proof!). This outfit looks great to me. The different textures add interest.

The only "rule" of YLF is to have fun with fashion --- a monochromatic wardrobe can still find variety with texture, silhouette, drape, etc.

Your look actually seems rather polished to me --- not at all sloppy and not super casual

Never too old! We might be style twins? How about we make a pact that we will both wear edgy black looks when we are in our 60's (I'll get there before you lol). You look fantastic. I really think it's attitude not age that makes something work.

Thanks everyone. I was just thinking today when I was out and about....I feel like I am back where I started wearing tight black jeans and black jackets...this is how I used to dress and if I have a uniform, how can it be made interesting? But as Torontogirl and Beth Ann said- it can be the texture and drape etc that makes it different.

Xtabay I bought the jacket a few months ago and have been wearing it all the time ..it has become a real workhorse because its good for casual and I can wear to work.

Ledonna you crack me up.."too cool for school" Actually one of the high school students I teach came in yesterday and said "you look gangster Miss" I wasn't sure if that was good or not.

Deborah for sure..I'll make a pact to keep wearing edgy black clothes till I'm 65. You have such a lovely elegant style in your black clothes but definitely edgy.

Aziraphale - I"m supposed to be a winter but I have blonde highlights...does it change with your hair colour. I"m not sure. Anyway I don't care....I love black clothes.

During winter we often take in students so we only have the downstairs part of the house to ourselves so I tend to have to put my clothes away and keep to a capsule. I have put together a mainly black capsule of clothes with some scarves and jewellery .. I wonder if I'll get sick of black...probably not.
