Am I right about my body type?

I think I am a petite pear with hourglass tendencies?
I am 1.58 m tall, which is about 5 foot 2. I am slightly overweight with a BMI = 27.

This is me about a year ago and 6 kg (google tells me that is about a stone or over 13 pounds) heavier:

Thank you both! I find it so difficult to look at my own body without only seeing the parts that are not my favourite. I tend to just see my round tummy and my big bottom and hips. For spring I will be looking for new clothes that make me feel more confident about myself. I have one pair of winter pants that fits and one that is too large (yay, I have shrunk!) and a few tops that I am happy with. My other clothes are sloppy and need to be replaced.

I agree with other posters; if you haven't already read up on Angie's tips and searched the board for forum posts about your shape, I'd do that before your spring shopping!

Especially since you've had such a dramatic change in size, I think you'll be in for an adventure. I hope your new items include belts to show off your waist and tops in a similar color to your current body shape photo; that teal-y shade is gorgeous on you!

Thanks again for the new comments! I have read the advice for pears. I am a little affraid to wear belts, I think it would accentuate the broader parts of me. But I promise I will experiment!
I love this colour, it is new for me. I was a rusty red girl but now I am wearing other bold colours and loving it. I am wearing this camisole as underwear today, but I also use it as a 1st layer with a top (can't think of the correct English word, I am Dutch). I have two matching tops. One of them is in the picture below (I bought the camisole shown in the picture as well), I wore this one on a very dark grey, almost black pair of trousers with wide legs for Christmass and when I went to the theatre.

Dankjewel Angie! I am looking forward to being more confident about how I dress. I bought myself a full length mirror last year. Before that I just put something on that was comfortable and clean. A lot of those clothes went shortly after the mirror came in... I find it difficult to find the right trousers, because as you noticed when you were in the Netherlands, most shops sell carrot-like trousers or very slim boot cut jeans. So I decided to make my own! They aren't perfect, but they fit much better than any shop bought pair.

Hi heleenh. I'm a pretty pear too and I was a bit weary of belting too as I thought it would make the big parts bigger but actually the only thing anyone notices is the way belting makes my waist look teeny x

You're lovely! I'm a pear too and like Louise haven't looked back since I started belts. It took a few goes to get the right ones (I bought a few from thrift shops) but everyone on here helps everyone particularly with things they are trying for the first time.
