Thanks ladies for the input. Here's the thing...I heard how comfy these loafers are from those who have them AND they come in not one, but two wide widths. I tried the Paul Smiths on the other day and found them to be too tight over the instep/bunion area. I have a pair of navy suede Geox slide loafers that I rarely wear because they feel kindof frumpy on me. I would find these too hot for full on Summer, but would wear in Spring and Winter. I guess there's only one way to figure this out, as Sharan said, and that's to actually try and put them with outfits. They would be good for whiteout looks which are soft edge or less, or the summery types in the pics below, so I think I"ll order and play dress up!
La Belle- I hear you and if these were suede or canvas we wouldn't be having this conversation Plastic would be best from that standpoint, but hot, followed by patent leather, which isn't as easy to break in as leather.
