Acne vs. Aquatalia Booties, Can't Decide - Pic Heavy

Help! In a state of indecision. Which should I keep?

I have taken a ton of photos with different bottoms. In some pictures I photographed them with some new cardigans in camel and oatmeal. I am looking forward to wearing them this Fall.

1/2 -- Acne close-ups
3 -- Aquatalia close-up
4/5 -- Acne vs. Aqautalia wearing medium wash boyfriend jeans and Uniqlo light wool sweater.
6/7 -- ... wearing dark wash rolled jeans and Vince heavy sweater.
8/9/10 -- With black skinny ankle jeans (and Uniqlo sweater).
11/12 -- with gray jeans (old).

After taking in Angie's Ensemble from Friday with white jeans, I took some pictures with white bottoms.

13 -- White cropped straights (apologies for the fold marks). Don't have a picture with the Aquatalias.
14/15 -- With white skinnies folded once.
16/17 -- With white skinnies which have stacking/scrunching.

The Aquatalias are more practical although both are very comfortable and fit well.

If you have gotten this far, thank you! Which ones would you keep?

Nay = Aquatalia

The only basis I see for choosing is color. I'd choose the taupe Aquatalias for bookending, but the Acne if that lovely sweater and white jeans are true workhorses. Not much help, eh?

But what about comfort, longevity, and wear? The Aquatalias will definitely hold up well, but the Acne toe is more current. I'm stumped.

I prefer the look of the Acnes - prettier. The colour is nicer with your complexion and hair.

See how well booties with higher shafts work with cropped pants. Shout it from the roof tops with me, Denise. All outfits are fabulous.

But the Aquatalias are more practical for the Fab Farm Fashionista. Robust and weatherproof. OOOOHHHHH. It's wildly annoying to be practical, isn't it. *sigh*

They both look terrific, and I don't think either is a bad choice.

I would choose based on what else I had
- if I have other pointy toe ankle boots I would tend to the Aquitalia
- if I had other more rugged ankle boots tend to the Acne.

I have a slight preference for the Aquitalia because I prefer the almond toe to the pointed, and I am not so keen on the black elastic on the Acne.

But I do like both!!

Yikes. I get the indecision. I have a slight preference for the style of the Aquatalias, but I really love the match with your hair for the Acnes.

How important is the practicality of the Aquatalias? Do you want booties you can wear somewhat independent of the weather, or are you fine just reserving the Acnes for mostly rain free/dirt free days?

I see the reason for indecision too. I like the look and co.or of the Acnes best but Aquatalia is the practical choice. Both look great.

I like the colour of the acnes on you but I would still vote for the aquatalias because the colour is more practical (and still a good neutral) and I prefer the slightly more rounded shape. But both are good.

I like the more grown up, elegant look of the Acnes, I think they add that sophisticated edge to your jeans and sweaters.

Any chance of finding pointy toes from a more practical maker?

Love the pointy toe and color of the Acnes Denise, plus they match/bookend your hair. Love the white jeans outfits especially!

Those light suede Acnes are what we call " valet parking" shoes in my neck of the woods. If that suits your life, go for them, - that are gorgeous!!! If not, the Aquatalias are a solid 9 out of 10 APPEARANCE-wise IMHO.

I bought those same Aquatalias at NAS, and although I liked the color and the weather proof aspect, I sent them back because I found the style too plain. And last week I bought the forest green version of those Acne boots. I love them but have not tried tons of outfits yet to make sure on keeping. So far I like them best with my rolled cropped black Frame Garçon jeans.

So, I say, go for the Jensens.

The Acnes are a much better looking boot, IMO. the contrast of the light suede with the black sole and elastic is beautiful, and the pointed toe looks great. I also very much prefer the lighter colour.

Both are gorgeous boots. The Acne seem nicer with your hair and complexion. I personally prefer the Aquatalias for the rustic finish and almond toe. You can't go wrong with either. Therefore buy both.

From a looks only standpoint I'd go with the Acne's. I love the color and the pointed toe. But the Aqualitias are great too and if those are going to get more wear they might be the best.

Tough call indeed! If you were going to be wearing a lot of white bottoms then I do have a bit of a preference for the Acne lighter color (especially with your hair down). However, I have a slight preference for the darker color with a lot of the other wardrobe items you've shown and with your hair up, it reads a bit darker and the darker boots bookend then quite good - and keep a certain amount of "grounding" that I personally like. I typically find the more practical choice works better for my own casual lifestyle but if money were no object, I might be tempted to get both!

I think the Acne's suit your hair colouring (for bookending) better. And the lighter colour is a bit more unexpected. The pointed toe seems more "you" than the almond. However... if you remotely think that the practicality of the aquatalia's is needed for your lifestlye (it would be for mine), they are still a great looking boot.

Curses! I keep going back and ogling the dark green Acnes. I love those so much. I will have to consider whether I can justify a pair of booties right now. How did you find the sizing?

Janet -- the Acnes run TTS. My typical Euro boot size is 37 and these fit well. The Aquatalias run smaller overall, so that an insert may not work, while I could, with time, get an insert in the Acnes. Hope that helps.

To everyone else -- thank you for commenting. Indeed, the Jensens have that something-something. But they seem really impractical to me. As Ryce said, they are valet parking shoes. I feel like I would "save" them for my city visits and get maybe 2 weeks of wear out of them annually AT BEST. The Aquatalias, while not as stylish, would get more day to day wear. Not that I have extreme weather, but I live in the countryside with mostly unpaved surfaces. Lots of dirt, stickers, dust, and when it rains, very muddy.

One of my concerns about the Acne is the light color and the suede. I found them in leather, in a light or medium brown.

Because I like the color of the Aquatalias, I just prefer the look of the Acnes.
