After receiving and appreciating advice from several Wise Ones here, I wore a scarf. Although I liked the color, the scarf was off by 10 am. Too fussy. Guess I’ll continue to admire these on so many of you who wear them so well. Other clothes are the usual. Advice is welcome, and thanks again for all of the inspiration. I couldn’t get dressed without you.

Too bad the scarf was fussy -it looks great and echoed the shoes beautifully. Do you wear necklaces?

Love all of these looks, but I am particularly taken with 1. I want to combine black and blue and this looks great! The black shoes complete the look and love the dressy element they bring to the more casual pant. Plus love live live the sleek leather jacket.

#2 is my KILLER fave. Try tying the scarf in a way that is less fussy. I know you'll get used to it.

I think scarves are a matter of getting used to. I rarely wear them myself, but trying to learn. It feels like it's getting on the way and out of place, but I'm not giving up yet!

What a shame, because it looks great on you. I love 3. The boots add so much to the black/white/grey look.

I wear scarves in winter a lot, for warmth and for color. My favorites are giant squares (not too thick) and very long ones. Then wearing them is easy. Any others I have to fiddle with.

ETA: also if they’re slippery it’s harder for me.

I love how polished you look in all these outfits. I wear a lot of scarves in the fall/winter and I think they take a bit of getting used to. Every fall I have to reacquaint myself with how scarves feel. I usually wear mine a little looser than you have yours tied.

I think the scarf looks great...but it would drive me crazy to have something like that tied around my neck...so I would wear the scarf in a looser over the shoulders way...the pop of color is fab!

The scarf looked great but you do have a lovely long elegant neck so I can quite understand why you wouldn’t want to hide it.

Love the outfits but sorry the scarf didn’t work for you. Some folks do better with smaller scarves that are less cumbersome while others prefer to use them on bags. Please don’t give up- there is a scarf and a way to wear it that clicks- you just have to find it

Catherine, first of all, you have such a strikingly beautiful neckline. No wonders you don't want to hide it! And you shouldn't either. (lol I notice I'm not the only fabber with this comment!)

Although proportions in 2 are exquisite, I feel the larger scarf might be overwhelming the dainty, delicate features of your face. This might maybe be an explanation for your aversion.

Favorite one is #1! But all are beautiful.

Why not try layering the scarf under the jacket collar to fall down the front? I.E. don't tie it at all, use it as decorative almost lapels? The colours looks gorgeous on you but I'm with the other commenters who suggest that wrapping the scarf around your neck doesn't work for you!

All looks are great-love the bright loafers! I suggest wearing the scarf's 2 sides down like a shawl lepel and not tied up around the neck-still there, but feel less fussy (at least to me).

I agree with the suggestions to try the scarf simply draped and not wrapped around your neck -- I also prefer a simpler approach with scarves unless I'm actually cold. All of these look fantastic.

I would keep the scarf and wear with black shoes for the same reason that I like the last outfit with just the red shoes: one pop of red is enough.

Great outfits! You do an amazing job of putting together your wardrobe. I can so relate to the big scarf. I bought one a few years ago and although it looks great, I find it is hard for me to wear all day too. You still look great without the scarf. I'm sure you get a lot of compliments on your clothing selections. Keep up the good work.

I love the way the scarf ties in with the shoes, and I'm sorry that you felt uncomfortable with it on. I would try experimenting with different ways of tying the scarf before completely giving up on it. I too have problems with feeling overwhelmed by scarves, and oftentimes just finding a different way to tie it can solve the issue. There are lots of online tutorials for tying scarves...they've helped me tremendously.

I love the way you dress. Every piece is in place, but in the end it looks effortless, even simple (until I begin counting layers & accessories). I can see why a big ole scarf, even one with beautiful colors, would feel fussy. If the draping fixes offered here work, great, but please don’t let it get in the way of your super style.
