No YLF Accessories challenge would be complete without some pearls for Angie!

Today I decided to wear a simple navy dress with a white belt. It looked a bit stark against the dress, and then I remembered PEARLS! Which made the belt work.

Once I had that sorted, I added the Owl bag and pumps with pearl trim. I wore this with a white cropped blazer (not shown) for the cooler part of the day.

Bonus for the dog lovers - a cute Margot picture - she just looked so sweet sitting in her bed.

the pearls cast such a glow on your face. I love the way you wrapped them.

I have a beautiful little white jacket in this shape, and I never wear it because I worry about getting it dirty. Really have to stop that!

I have a soft spot for terriers, and yours is adorable

It feels like Hollywood glam version of a working lady - VERY polished with a smile! Grace Kelly comes to mind with a bit of Marilyn Monroe! Your doggy is adorable:)

Well I knew Margot would steal the show - she is soo cute and adorable - just loves to be cuddled. Terriers in the Autumn leaves - such spectacular pictures of the dogs.

Torontogirl - it is funny how this came together, because the dress and the belt was too high contrast - it needed the other light elements too. That has been the benefit of this accessory challenge for me, making me think a bit harder on how to get the most from my accessories.

Ummlila - pearls are so flattering. I used to wear them all the time and got a bit of of the habit of wearing them. It is nice to rediscover my pearls with this challenge.

JAileen - LOVE the photo of Mr Skunky. My Westies - Bijou and Margot, would love to play with him.

Angie - I am humbled. I had to include the pearls on this challenge and this is a nice dress to wear them with, it has a retro vibe that suits pearls.

Robin - I love the owl bag too! I really like owls, I think Hedwig from Harry Potter made me love snow owls in particular.

LisaP - that is such a lovely compliment - thank you. I just enjoy dressing well for work and I think it helps me to feel professional if I am dressed smartly.

Slim Cat - thank you so much for that - wow! Grace and Marilyn are style icons for me.

Mainlady - you are right about Margot, she is so small and cute, she almost looks like a toy. Thank you so much, and wow, I need to wear this outfit more often!

Shevia - it is a nice dress and so cool to wear as it is soft and floaty - perfect for a hot summer's day.

Katerina - I bought these shoes when looking for some shoes to wear with my more formal dresses. Most dressy shoes have spindly heels, so it was nice to find these ones with a block heel, but the pearl details to make them pretty enough to wear with a cocktail dress. Thanks so much for your feedback.

All your accessory challenge outfits have been great but this is the best. I agree with what Lisa said and great to see you prompt UmmLila to wear her white jacket too.

Pearls are flattering and wearing them in a modern way is a great idea. I might wear mine soon too.

Sal thanks so much. I really like how the pearls lift this look. I think this has been the true benefit of the accessories challenge, to get me to be more deliberate and add accessories to outfits. I would likely have been quite happy to just wear the dress without a necklace.
