There is a guy on Twitter, who writes about menswear. He recently wrote a very informative thread on garment steamers and why they should not be used on hefty items like jackets and coats:

I enjoy reading his posts even though he writes about men's fashion since his general point is that style is not about fashion but quality, fit and care.
