a WIW that's not quite right - YouLookFab Forum

Today I had a shelter cat adoption event. I had not ever worn these clothing items together and I could tell after I put it on that the proportions weren't quite right - but, I didn't have time to tweek it - and besides, the cats don't care!

*GAP boyfriend jeans - belted up too tight - my belt wasn't big enough and so I had to hike up the jeans higher than I like in order to buckle the belt.
*James Perse blouse - the color is a pale pink - not a good color for me - but, the main thing that doesn't work about this blouse is that the tails aren't long enough and so it really throws off the proportions.
*F21 cat shirt
*Target taupe boots

What about the cuffing? Did I hit the sweet spot or should they have been higher or lower?

I beg to differ - I think this is a super outfit! Because the shirt and top are a very similar colour, the length (or lack of length ) of the shirt tails is not highlighted. The jeans look good too. This is a great casual outfit !

I might like to see the jeans rolled up a tiny bit more -- maybe make each roll thicker, if you know what I mean. But that's just a quibble. I think this outfit is Marleytastic!

Marley, I think it is pretty cool. I would not mind the shirt tails to be a bit longer but I think it works as is. Cuffing is super in my book with the booties. You rock it, girl!

Marley, you are WAY to hard on yourself! This is such a cool outfit with loads of personality, and the pink is unexpected in this edgy an outfit, and very flattering on you.

Right on, looking good! Yes, it would have taken it up even more if your shirttail were longer, but it still works. LOVE the cat shirt, especially for an adoption event.

I think it is quite right indeed! I love your hair, first of all. The light pink does actually look very good on you - at least on my monitor! Those shoes are great - can't believe they are target. The bf's are terrific too and the cuffing works perfectly with the booties. You look fab!

I'm not sure about the proportions, Marley. I think they look good, but I don't consider myself qualified to judge. I like the half tuck effect AND, you look gorgeous in that shade of pink. So soft and pretty.

So did the kitties come up and sniff your top or were some of them even hissing? That is a big feline on your tank! This makes me think of the first time my border collie saw himself in the mirror as a puppy. He growled and got his hackles up!

As for the outfit, I too love the soft pink with the blue of the denim and taupe booties. It is not easy to create a cool, edgy (apologies for using cliche words) outfit in pink and blue.

I'm with Angie I would prefer both tails out (isn't there pun in there somewhere?)
