This outfit was SO easy to put together, which should have been a warning sign - lol.  I think I'm starting to look like a walking cliche in this type of look, which has been my go-to for probably a decade now. Oops.  I'm wearing new EF skirted leggings that I bought from Janet,  a side zip animal print sweatshirt, western boots with silver chain trim, my usual scarf , a crossbody bag with a bit of swag clipped to the handle, and a black nylon/silver lined/zip trim coat.  I was fine until I got into the car and felt this all looked tired.

I'm always blowing my horn about looking genuine or "organic"  and not adopting trends or wearing things like band /graphic t's and Converse just because they are everywhere at retail .....yet here I am still prancing around in my faux rocker look.  UGH.  I'm about as tough and rocker-ish  as , well,  NOT.

It might be the amount of black,  the skirted leggings , the boots, the scarf, the stuff on the bag....but up until today I wouldn't have given this a second thought.

I'm thinking these leggings need different styling to bring them into the 2020's - like sneakers, a luxe sweater, and some classic chunky jewellery.  A floral or geometric print scarf instead of my skulls;) a softer coat in a different colour?  I *am* going to give the skull scarf a break for awhile - I'm actually getting sick of it I'm wearing it so often this winter.

At what point do your go-to looks and outfits start needing an update?

(re the photos: I promise you I do not have a basketball under my sweatshirt. Not sure what's happening there.  Bump from the side zips maybe ?  )
