Wow. I have nothing to add, but I’m in awe of your skill. This is amazing and you look gorgeous! I love these vintage styles and I love that you can be a uniform dresser in them! I’m in your climate, too, and linen dresses are perfect. Can’t pick a favorite - all the necklines and colors suit you very well.

Wow, what a pretty rainbow of dresses! Seriously impressed with your skill. That is the way to truly get what you want in clothing — making it yourself!

Oh wow Ginger these are FANTASTIC and so perfect for you. The rainbow makes me happy!

Bijou, I see a lot I like in your WIW's, too. Happy factor is super important for me!

Carol, thank you! Vintage patterns (30s-50s) tend to fit me with fewer alterations than modern ones, so they're my go-to.

Haha Sloper, thanks! I'm super picky about colors, so it was gratifying that what I ordered worked well.

Rachy, I can see you doing it!

Thank you, Windchime! I do love summer, though at times like now I have to remind myself of that fact.

Thanks, Vildy!

Brooklyn, I'm glad you can see the changes (though some of the pictures are extra grainy). I kept honing each pattern design to make it slightly better than the previous.

N, I was actually struck by a similar realization to see all these side by side. The wide V neckline really is my favorite, since it's flattering and cool. The cowl effect wasn't intentional, but in the mint (#6) the neckline stretched a little when I was finishing it. I love the effect, too. And the shoulders are gathered in most of the dresses, which gives extra material above the chest and a slight cowl effect.

slim cat, I confess I kind of wondered if I would wear these as much as I did last year - and I did! I also am kind of out of colors to add, LOL. The red in #1 is new and the lavender in #9. I want to buy more of the yellow and make a second dress, though, since it's a hard color to find and it makes me SO HAPPY to wear!

Thank you, Star!

Preppy Pear, you're right - this has turned out to be a terrific formula for the heat. I love my shorts but these are more comfortable. I've been known to do yard work in them, too.

Janet, right?! My mom made a lot of her clothes when I was growing up. It's a lot of work, but later I realized it's even more work to buy something and alter it to fit. This way I can tweak the design, add matching pockets, re-shape the neckline, etc. And I've never bought so many fabrics of the same kind before; I had qualms. But it turns out the investment was well worth it.

Yay Diana! They make me happy, too! I hang them up this way in my closet so I always know where to find the color I'm feeling like.

you look great and have amazing sewing skills! It'd take me a year for one of the them!

Wow! You are a beautiful walking rainbow! Everyone must smile when you walk in the room.

Thanks, Ginger. All of that makes sense. The advantage of having a lot of dresses is that you can let airing do its good work. It means they will last you longer, too! Agreed, a good press after the wash is helpful.

Ginger, they are all amazing! What a fantastic formula for hot summer outfit. And You had me with the vintage patterns - such fabulous and personal style. I LOVE it!

Gorgeous dresses love the rainbow collors and all are LINEN!!! Love the feminine cut -(especially those with the big pockets!!:-)) am so tired and sick of the generally so simple cuts (like scrubs) for dresses in linen!!! These are really fab-would buy anytime!!:-))

I adore these! Its genius thinking to copy a flattering and comfortable dress you like in a rainbow spectrum colors!

I admire anyone who has enough skill sewing to follow patterns and make/alter clothing!

Ooh love your rainbow linen!

I vanished over the weekend - just want to say Thank You for all of your sweet comments! lyn67 - I get you about the simple cuts. They look terrible on me and make me feel terrible, and usually they're in very neutral colors. It made all the difference to find these gorgeous colors available.

Today it should be 100F or just over - but tomorrow the first fall cold front arrives! Low temperatures down into the 50s and highs in the 80s. I am so excited, though I suspect I will be cold. My blood is always pretty thin by this point in the year and coolness hits me hard.
