A resolution for next year's sweater purchasing - ETA now with a twist!!

So a few weeks ago I posted this thread

I and the posters on the thread liked this sweater but didn't buy it because it shed.

Fast forward 3 weeks

On Tuesday I went to look for it again, and the shop had none left. I was a bit annoyed with myself and then (most uncharacteristically for me) ordered it online. Even though the postage is $9.95 It was really the only sweater that appealed to me that I had seen.

My resolution is for next year. I usually buy one casual "trendy" sweater each australian winter. Next year I plan to _make_ myself buy one as soon as the first sales appear (if not sooner). If I buy from a shop that does returns (they don't all here) then I'll have the return window to keep shopping and see if I like anything better, but at least I'll have something.

My under- buying, maximising, perfectionist tendencies need to get nipped in the bud!

Oh I know I know. Even tho Mo found me even better faux leather overalls, I'm still scarred for my life on how I missed the first pair I saw for hemming and hawing for just a day.

Good idea. You are getting fresh season merchandise at a percentage off AND gving yourself that (30day?) window. I think I will have to do that myself especially since I will be applying my newfound YLF knowledge to my fall shopping for Fall 2014.

This is why Nordstroms NAS sale is so brilliant. I just wish it were a little closer to the weather change, like September.

So the latest twist is that my colleague, who know about my top saga, mentioned that it was now on sale. Texts while on the bus ensued! So yesterday night when at my local mall, I bought it. I'll still lose the postage on the one I ordered (but don't have to pay return postage - this is a first for me, that I can return in store) but I'll still come out on top.
Hope I do like it. Pics to follow on the weekend if I can manage it.

Good move, Anne! I know that being on a budget, and trying to maximize the value of each purchase, can lead to shopping paralysis. You can afford to be more confident in your choices because you've been honing your style and shopping skills. So glad you got the sweater!
