a little plaid love WIW 10.2

I finally found my plaid shirt for the season and am really loving wearing it today. Cotton, not flannel; feminine colour way; perfect pocket placement and pattern match; and a nice long hi-low cut for comfortable coverage. It's called the Jegging Shirt (I know, I know) from American Eagle. Again, finding clothing love in weird places . Bonus love coming from a collar that stays popped, and sleeves and cuffs that can handle the JCrew roll.

Wearing with a pair of leather-piped leggings, and for extra coverage outside, a faux fur vest. (knit back for less bulk). I noticed Angie included a fur vest in the flare pant post of last week, so I felt a little more confident pulling it out. I have a secret stash of fur vests - ok, 2 - which I totally love, but am never sure about wearing. If left to my own devices, I would leave the house looking like an extra on Sonny & Cher . I'm off to road test this - the vest may not make it out of the car , but we'll see. Finished with Geox leather wedge sneakers and a crazy purple bag.

This is one great outfit and you look fab. The shirt has beautiful colours and it's so fun seeing it paired with the fur vest. I was actually wondering the other day if they are around any longer, because I liked seeing them (I don't have one, but live vicariously through others) and this styling puts big smile on my face. Matching bag in gorgeous colour - so fun.

Btw, I don't think I commented much on your posts before, therefore probably haven't said I adored your hairstyle.

Angie got one of her plaid shirts from Americal Eagle also. May be it is the same one. Her is white, yellow and blue.
This looks lovely, lisa. You wear fur vest to perfection. I hope it did make it out of the car. Leather sneaks and purple bag take the style quotient through the roof.

What a fantastic look on you! I was perusing those American Eagle shirts, too, but I have not seen them yet in person. This one is perfection on you. I think I might just have to make a quick trip to the mall (said the Lemming...with Lemmingitis).

Versatile and fun. I love that cobalt coach tote! The wedge sneakers are cute and give a bit more edge to the outfit.

Suz - I found the shirt while mindlessly (again) trailing DD through the store. It was also on sale too - and the quality is excellent! Sometimes that store surprises me!

Love everything about this! I'm noticing on myself that when I stick with pretty neutral harmonious colors that I can amp up the texture of individual items to add interest, and this outfit does that well.

aida - it didn't make it out of the car, but only because it all-of-a-sudden got sunny and warm and it felt like too much. I have a shorter one too, (fake fox from Club M) and like you, am not pulling it out.

The shirt is perfect - the same cut I like to wear with skinnies - and even 100% cotton I see. I'm really tempted to go check it out even though none of the colours are really me....

Ooh is your CM by chance from 3 years ago? I hemmed and hawed over that one and ultimately didn't get it, then regretted it. Eventually I found a sorta similar one over a year later, but of course the CM one was The One. I plan to reserve those shorter ones for flares and skirts this season.

Aida - indeed it is. I did the same hemming and hawing but never regretted it. In fact, I wore it everywhere i could the first year or two. Last winter it didn't quite seem right. It would absolutely work on you with flares and a blouse,. Go for it! On me, it would look a little too authentic - like i was some aging hippie

I'm looking for new booties and you keep showing out with great ones. I've never tried the wedge sneaker. Do you find a lot of things to pair them with?

thanks Angie T! - yes, I have two pair of wedge sneaker boots and love them. I have always loved the narrow and clean silhouette of skinny pants or leggings with an ankle boot and these have the same effect. I like the height it gives me without having to deal with heels. A wedge is imminently walkable and comfortable (plus it makes your legs look good) . It is kind of a uniform for me in the fall and winter months - maybe it gets a bit repetitive, but it just works for me and my lifestyle. Works with jeans (straight, cuffed bf and skinny) and with leggings and tights (I live in Lululemon tights and a big sweater on weekends, admittedly). Geox has a few different styles right now that are more "mature" looking and of really great quality - check them out if you get a chance.

angiet - no, lol. Maybe inside somewhere, but not visibly. They are really well made shoes/boots/sandals and I've had great luck with this brand. Not inexpensive, but worth it to me. Comfort inner footbed too.

Fantastic find on the shirt! It's just gorgeous on you. The whole outfit is super--love it all, vest included! No, especially the vest. It really adds to the outfit. Still a great look without it, though, so you're forgiven not wearing it because of the warmth.

Wow. This is gorgeous. All of it. And your shoes are the grown up version of the wedge sneakers I have, and have contemplated replacing with something much nicer and more modern. I love them! Ever piece of this outfit is just right and you look amazing in it!

thanks, Sarah and Sharan! Sarah - I am always mindful of my shoe selections, as I still am drawn to things slightly younger in appeal. This horrifies my 18 year old DD . These wedge sneakers, although studded and buckled, are not for kids

The whole ensemble...awesome...so totally fab! I'm a sucker for purple and black AND I have high tops that are similar to your wedges and jeggings that will work here. Hope you don't mind that you've started a lemming migration My new Sorrel Joan of Arctic wedge boots (below) will look authentically lumberjack-like if I add a plaid shirt!
