Thanks Jenni. It does lean very pink but there is definitely a purple (blue) undertone. Pink with a twist.

Thanks Madeline. I’m glad it’s given you some ideas. Pulling out the red in the colour, rather than the blue, is a good strategy for me too.

Mary Beth, thanks! I’m really feeling the purples at the moment but they are tricky for me. I’d love a purple floral skirt. A floral ring sounds good…

Carla, yes to teal! I’ve tried the top with my teal flares and teal beads. And the “famous” teal bag. I should do an outfit lab, if I can get organised.

ST, once again I think our preferences are similar. My go to purple colours are plum and aubergine. But for summer it’s nice to lighten up a little. Hence the lilac. I will keep an eye out for radiant orchid. There is always DIY.

Synne, “pseudo neon” must be advanced colour theory. I’m off to google that now

And thanks for the kind words Angie, Suz, kkards, JAileen, Nikki, Lisa, StagFash, UmmLila and The Cat.

Down the rabbit hole…I think I just found a radiant orchid version of my top.

How fun, Brooklyn! Re: pseudo neon. I took that term from the top of my head. The colour looks semi like a neon, and as I know, you watch Trinny too, right? She treats neons like neutrals, or like colours that transcends any "colour season". Maybe this is why this is so perfect (even though you otherwise don't like lilac?).

Ah, I get it. It is kind of neon isn’t it? Like a pink highlighter pen. And yes, I love Trinny. I wish I had her wardrobe!

I’ve never watched Trinny. Thought that show she used to be involved in was the epitome of fashion people sneering at the rest of us, mean-spirited and condescending. But I’ve heard she’s different now. And if you two, who have such cool ideas about dressing and are so friendly and helpful on here, like her, them maybe I should check her out.

Thank you for the sweet compliment Fash! (And to group me in with Brooklyn, woohoo!).

Past, present, future: Trinny is a total icon

Awe, thanks Fash!

And thank you for that compliment Synne

I agree 100% with Synne. Trinny rocks.

And Fash, she has lots of clothes that she has kept for years and years and still wears them. Admittedly some are by Prada, Chloe, blah, blah. But she does love the High Street too.

Gorgeous ... I agree with Nuance, an unexpected and elegant combo!

I think this color pairing looks marvelous! I avoid lilac because even though I like it as a color, somehow it doesn’t seem to do me any favors. At least it didn’t last time I bothered trying. Maybe too pale on my coloring? I find most pastels problematic. But I like how you’ve paired it with deeper, more dramatic colors.
