A funny thing happened on the way to Angie's ensemble post...

When I first saw Angie's post this morning, I thought "I can do this today!" Then I realized my jeans are in the wash, so OK, plan B. Then I realized my white button down is also in the wash (sheesh, doesn't anyone do the laundry around here?) so OK, plan C. This is what I ended up with, and I wore it to go shopping with my MIL (DH's birthday is tomorrow):

Berry colored jeans - Macy's
Sweatshirt (it's boxier than it appears in the photos) - F21
Boxy blouse - Old Navy (this is the pink one, I ended up keeping both pink and coral shirts)

I would have chosen more refined footwear per Angie's post, but due to the snow, slush, and rain outside, I wore my gray boots. I also had the scarf on at first, but that came off quickly - too warm in the stores.

Sorry about the bad pics - my hair's a mess in the 1st photo (at the end of the rainy afternoon), and the 2nd pic was taken this a.m. but it's out of focus and there's some weird shadow thing going on with my head.

You look fantastic in this! So maybe we were all wrong about the coral. Or maybe you can just wear anything. That's probably more like it.

I think this is a fabulous substitution! Jeans and button-down will have their turn some other day. I love the pinks with the gray and the scarf tying it all together. Wonderful save!

Suz, at first I wasn't going to keep the pink shirt, just the coral, but this morning I realized it would play nicely with my berry colored jeans, so...I'm bad! I kept both. I'm actually glad I did, because the Old Navy button-downs are nice and long (like their cousins, the Gap BF fit shirts), and there's enough shirt tail to peek out from under a sweater or sweatshirt.

DV and Claire, the jeans are in the wash now, with the white button-down soon to follow, so they will have their day quite soon!

I thought it was a grey sweater and wanted one (my new favorite color, you know). I'm surprised it's a sweatshirt! And I love the boots, too. Actually the whole outfit looks great!
