A few WIWs to close out 2016

My OTKs have been workhorses this winter. They have been just the thing to breathe some interest into my very unnvaried work uniform. Hoping to change it up a little in 2017--although I'm not sure how yet. Sharing an assortment of outfits from December. Thanks for looking and happy new year to everyone!

These look great! Each outfit is simple but has striking details that have me going back to look at them more than once. I really like these - and I love your boots!

Thank you, Summer, Pat, delurked, chouette and Cynthia for the nice comments! I think the gym dressing room might be why I feel like my outfits are so drab. Maybe by 2017 resolution should be to take my WIW pictures in natural light.

@Robin. Thank you. I wholeheartedly agree! Foot wear makes a huge difference. That's the first thing I think about when I get dressed--what shoes today!

I love how boots make an outfit more stylish. My solution for changing up your flawless formula is - buy more boots!!!!!! I love all your outfits, especially the pattern mix in # 1.

Please tell me that lawn in photo # 6 is faux grass - if it's real, I'm ashamed of ours!!!!!

Looking at your outfits I would never know that you were in a style rut. I like all of these but especially the layered green poncho and shirt, that's a fun look. Also the furbaby is too cute. Since you did mention that you want to vary up your work uniform, one thing I noticed is a lack of prints here, the outfits have interest from the layering instead (I adore layers so that's fine to me), but as spring and summer approach and layering gets harder to do, maybe look at some printed items when you shop for spring and summer? Also, I don't know if you are a cardigan gal, but if so, a cardigan, or a sweatercoat is a nice layering option.

Ooohhh, the new boots are FAB, but I have always thought of you as having a great selection of boots! I want to copy outfits #1 and #3!

It's nice to know that these looks aren't as boring as I tend to think. (Whew! Kind of a relief! Maybe I can put the update on hold!)

@Suz: My hair is gradually creeping up. As much as my family prefers the longer locks, it just feels so unkempt to me. It’s on probation until the weather warms up--then I may hack it off a little bit more.
@Angie: You are so kind. I still feel like I have a long way to go on the fashion front but I have to say it is so much easier getting dressed these days! All thanks to you and the fabulous forum! The schnauzer came to the office for a visit--love her. She’s so cute!

@Bennett: LOL! That mop bucket is my nemesis. I usually try to shove it to the side or crop it out! And yes, the lawn is artificial--it’s the best investment ever!
@Lisa: Great idea. I feel like I’ve developed a print allergy these days. I have a few plaid tops in the donate pile--just not feeling them anymore. I really don’t have any other prints except for a few summer tops. Perhaps color and pattern are in order! I do have a few cardigans that I have been trying to wear but they are very classic in cut and skew very conservative. I think I need to try and mix them with OTKs to make them look more current
@AJ: I’m flattered that you would want to copy. I love your style!
@AM: Good eye! They are my old coated skinnies. I really love them for adding some texture. The coating also prevents my sweater from “sticking” to my jeans. Win win!
