The weather is still changeable here.
Pic 1 work outfit. I am not sure if black blazer works here.
Pic 2 and 3 inspo picture and my copy
Pic 4. My son got a special baggy for playing a certain number of games for his 1st XI and I went to see him presented with it
Pic 5 work outfit I did not wear. It felt off or blah.
Pic 6 I wore this instead

Great outfits Sally! I love how you punched up #5 with the yellow cardigan. I like how the bright jeans punch up the jeans jacket too, and well done on the inspo outfit. I must say, however, that: My son got a special baggy for playing a certain number of games for his 1st XI is completely incomprehensible to me! A special baggy? his 1st XI? huh?

I agree that #5 is missing that certain something, which you found in the yellow sweater in #6. LOVE.

The tee under the polka dot dress is cute, and I really like the bright coloured pants in #4.

I would be curious to see the denim jacket with #1 instead of the black blazer.

I like the polka dot dress. It's a great silhouette for you and is cute. Fun aqua pants outfit and I like the yellow sweater with blue pleated skirt.

What Jaime said. Both about the "special baggy" ??? And the outfits! I think the proportions are off in #5. And perhaps you were missing the zing of spring in the colour palette.

Try #3 with a white tee! Soooo '90s, and you wear the vibe well. Add Docs when it's not too hot.

@jaime, - the first XI is the top cricket team in a school. My son goes to a traditional school where cricket and rugby have a lot of traditions around it and it is very competitive to get into these teams. So if they play (I think it is 12 ) games which is nearly a full year for the team, they will get a special hat (which is baggy cricket hat) see photo of two schools with baggies.

Thank you CarolS. Yes I have fun and my clothes are dictated by my moods. Bright colours usually when I have more confidence. Good idea to change the denim jacket with the blazer as the blazer would make it more casual.
Bluejay - Thank you. Maybe the XI is a British thing which we seem to have inherited.

Thank you Suz. I think you are right about the proportions. I think the denim jacket is too boxy for a flowing skirt.
Thank you Angie - I will try with a white shirt. Yes I think the docs would be great in Spring. As the weather is so changeable I think I will try this week with docs and my denim jacket.

My favorite is #4- and yay to Team Birks! I think I'd like #1 with a brown or burgundy jacket more if you have. Or the denim one.

Nice collection of casual outfits. Like the idea of the t-shirt under your dress, I also think some even bolder t-shirt colours, like pink, yellow, red or blue might work well with this dress. I love that pop of yellow in the cardigan with outfit #6.

You are a natural in a all kinds of blazers and jackets but I just love the polka dot dress and the blue and citron outfit! They seem so joyful!

Ooh I like #6! And not just from my usually biased 'colour magpie' point of view

I wonder whether part of the issue in #5 is the proportions? The longer cardigan might work over a longer skirt but, since the jacket is stiffer, does it feel like it adds more bulk without hinting at the waist (from tucking in the top etc)? Just a thought, not gospel

Haha - I know exactly what you meant by baggy and First XI - well done to him. My son’s at a similar type of school but not a cricketer!!

I like your looks here and I really like the last look - the cardigan does look better than the denim.

Love the coloured jeans too.

I think the black blazer is fine but I too struggle with blazers and skirts. I find them easier with pants or with a dress.

You look great overall! And yes the weather is erratic…,,

Love you outfits - my favorites are #3 &5. Like the #1, too but agree with you that a black blazer looks a bit heavy. Maybe try with a denim jacket?

Sally, as an Australian, I knew what the baggy was, and what an achievement it is, those schools are incredibly competitive!

I love your style and have the same issue with denim jackets and full skirts feeling a bit boxy if there is no waist definition. The cardigan in #6 is fabulous.

It's amazing what a difference the cardigan makes in #6. In theory the denim jacket should have worked but maybe too bulky? I also love the polka dot dress with tee, nice way to wear that style of dress.

Love the idea of #5, but the execution in #6 shows the power of a pop of color! FAB. And the polka dot dress is so fun, i really like Angie’s suggestion of trying a white tee…and i know this is way out there, but looking at the pattern mix in the inspo, wouldn’t it be cool if you had a white tee with black polka dots to wear under it?

It’s always interesting when people post their hits and work on outfits. Thank you- I find it really helpful.

In looking again at the denim jacket and skirt I suspect it’s not as nice a photo as the one with the yellow cardigan. I love the yellow and the closer fit is less boxy but I think the denim probably does look good too.

@ Sal I was playing around with colour. I think as well as boxy the jacket is a little dull. You’re right picture is not as good because I had decided against jacket.
Thank you Katerina I think the tshirt under dress is good if you want to make a dress like that more modest.. like for work.
