Hi all! I have caught up on work for a bit, and am in need of some distraction, so I thought I’d post some outfits. Nothing terribly exciting or different — I’m feeling a bit bored with my style right now, but I think it’s a combination of weight gain, stress over our dog (more on that later), and a little seasonal sadness. I’m ready for my husband to be home on a more permanent basis, too — we’re both anxious for him to be here for the holidays, but he’s busy tying up some loose ends in Texas for another few days.

1. I was feeling earth tones that day. So many bargains in this outfit. Bronze boots that were something like $12, Bao Bao knockoff bag, and Bernardo suede deep chocolate brown jacket that was about $25 at the Rack. The scarf was an Africa purchase. I’m not usually a big wearer of animal prints, but I’m feeling them more now that I’ve seen so many in person — they have more meaning to me now.

2. I haven’t worn this beautiful BCBG tunic top very much because tunics are not my best look, but I really love the bird print and think it is JFE.

3-4. The teal hoodie moto from Nordstrom this year got lots of compliments (worn to a rock show). Stripey tee and another animal print scarf from Africa for a little pattern mix, and the new A Wang Kori boots, which have become an instant workhorse.

5-7. Worn for back-to-back holiday parties. Black velvet Kut pants that I found off-season at Marshall’s for $20 — they fit perfectly and I knew I’d get wear out of them for the holidays. Zara wrap top from last year. I was ready to go (photo 6) and then realized it was colder outside than I thought, so I quick changed coats and scarves (7). However, the combination of cream faux fur and dark wool coat was ill-advised — good thing I keep a lint roller in the car.

8. Worn today to take our sweet little ailing old girl Sophie to a veterinary surgeon for consultation. Got there to discover they somehow did not have our appointment anywhere on their books. I broke down in tears right there. It’s been a stressful time, as she is not doing very well. The vet center is fitting us in tomorrow.

9 Sophie and Tippi yesterday. I’m not sure how much more time we will have with Sophie, but hoping we can somehow make her more comfortable for whatever time she has left.
