Do these pants look too big? DD13 liked this look.
A follow up on an old post about this handed down dress. I ended up wearing camping. Not too bad though got dirty quickly and also has a run.

The Jeans in #2 do look a bit big and I like wide pants. Mostly they look too long as if they need a 2 or 3 inch hack. I think Angie advises that they end at least 2-3 inches above the ankle..I like the dress that you wore for camping.

Fav outfit #1- very pretty! The jeans/pants in #2 a bit big but could work out better with a chunkier shoes ( platform maybe - something to balance that volume in wide legged pants ). Dress is cute!

Thanks Rachy and Joy. I will be interested to hear Angie's input on the length as iirc she she didn't recommend shortening when I bought them, but I wonder too. Also wonder if they are too big overall.

Re jeans - I don’t find them too long but they are probably one size too big. There is extra fabric in the zipper area. Can you try to size down?

The jeans are perhaps a little wide in the waist/hip area... but I also like the look. If they get more fitted, I’m not sure if they’ll be as cool, tbh.

What's not to like in #1? Column of white, cute kimono, neutral sandals. Nice!
The jeans do look a bit big in #2. Does cuffing the leg help?
A dress for camping? Fancy! It looks pretty on you and the hat is nice too.

You looked even better in person than you do in the first pic? Wowsers. That is a sophisticated casual look, imo. I also really like 3–so cute and fun, with a great floppy hat. I like the contrasting color bag with it too.

The pants in 2....I’m curious to hear what others say. If you’re going to wear them so big, I’d style them with a fitted or even body-con top and then a boxy cropped jacket or cardi. If you do decide they are a smidge too big, you could always try washing them in hot water.

Your posting pattern seems similar to mine—long absence, then a bunch of posts as I reevaluate/plan next moves. It probably comes from our similar approaches to fashion in general. xx

Re the jeans in #2...i like them a lot, yes they are baggy, but i think they work, however for me, they need a different shoe. I’d go either sleeker and lighter, maybe even just a flip flop/thong or something chunky with a platform.

You look great! Love 1 and 3 ... Totally get that feeling that something worked irl but not as well on a photo ... But the photo looks good to me! So if you felt good, then you nailed it!

Re the jeans ... Echoing others' sentiments that there is some tweak that would make them just right ... Hopefully Angie will weigh in!

Love # 1 and # 3. I especially like the blue hat. IMO, the jeans are a good length but bit too big overall. I echo what kkards said about the footwear. I think a chunky platform would balance the wider leg of the jeans.

I LOVE #1. KILLER.

#3 is pretty and oh so adorable! Great floppy hat.

#2 has potential in a fashion forward way. A fluid tucked top will elevate the jeans. Light footwear and preferably some sort of flatform - and you’re in business.

First , you look fantastic- glowing and fit.
# 1 is just perfect.
I really struggle with pants like #2 for myself because I’m never happy with the silhouettes I can make in terms of figure- flattery vs trendy for those wide, cropped, stiffer styles. Though I will wear a slightly baggy style with some taper and am always looking for that elusive Jean that is somehow more loose and comfortable and still looks great without requiring leggy thin fashion- model form.

However I agree re: a different top, not the boxy one. you’d look great in a fitted ballet style,- what might fit like an underlayer actually, or if drapier, for sure tucking it in.
The dress in 3 is fab on you, both color and style, so keep an eye out for one for non- camping “ nice” wear.

Fashionintern - yes I think outfit 1 worked better IRL because the topper is fluid and moves, and because you can then see the top underneath. That topper is a YLF story btw, Was originally bought by Suz, then went to Lyn D in Australia and she passed it on to me 6 years ago.

Re the pants - I think the problem is that I bought them in winter, and I tend to be a bit bigger in winter than summer. So I can just keep them for winter. But I'm going to try out some suggestions too. I have worn them with a body con top before (the one from the first picture) and I think that worked.
Yes re posting. I'm not a very frequent clothes purchaser and like you I keep items for a long time which can mean not much posting. Plus in my case I had a stage this year where I got a new phone and hadn't figured out how to log in to YLF on it! I'm in the summer holidays now (kids are I mean, I'm back at work, but things are kind of in summer mode) and posting on YLF was on the long list of things I planned to get done over the summer break.

Kkards - yes the jeans in 2 look better with the heeled sandals in 1 - but heels are not practical for most MOTG looks (which 2 is)

Unfrumped -I know what you mean and I always feel that you get my body challenges because you share some of them! I'll see if I can put out a picture of the jeans with a more fitted top

Please don't stop, I love the white jeans and the dress is so cute! Nr 2 is a great casual- and I can see why your DD loves the vibe of oversized BF fit jeans on her cool Mom (but do they stay safe on your hips?:-))
