Here are some of my outfits from this week.

1- Sunday:
dark gray coated denim leggings (AG)
abstract-dot print long-sleeved t-shirt (made by me)
oatmeal merino wool boyfriend sweater (Caslon)
metallic belt with rhinestones and studs (Calvin Klein)
metallic ballet flats (AGL)

2&3- Monday:
charcoal ankle-zip skinny trousers (Halogen)
big shirt/jacket in cream, light blue, taupe, and silver stripe (made by me)
metallic ballet flats (AGL)

4- Friday:
six-gored skirt in blue and red crinkled rayon batik (made by me)
cobalt 3/4-sleeve cardigan (Halogen) over white cami (Ann Taylor)
heeled neutral-toned spectator oxfords (Fidji)
light tan braided leather narrow belt (Nordstrom)

I like your outfits, but I covet your shoes in particular, and whoever does you hair!

Cobalt outfit is my favourite of a very good set. Well done.

Runcarla, thank you! These two pairs of shoes are new this season, and I'm having fun making outfits with them. I think your hair looks similar to mine, and my hair stylist loves working with curly hair, lucky for me. You'd just have to make a little trip to Seattle!

Gorgeous x's 3! Love the rich texture and colors if 1. Those coated skinnies are divine on you and add so much edge to your look! Love the gorgeous print of the top too! The jacket you made in 2/3 is a great structured piece. The lines and the ease are so flattering--the color is lovely and fresh too. The shoes in 3 are awesome with the skirt. You manage to put together such interesting outfits. Love your style and your mad sewing skilz!

Eta: the jacket style and high/low hem reminds me of a jacket that I made many years ago. I think it was a Sewing Workshop pattern. Anyway, I really love it on you and your choice of fabric/color.

Kellygirl, thank you! The shirt IS Sewing Workshop pattern, probably the one you had years ago--haha! Liberty Shirt, right? This was my try-out of the pattern recently, and I then made it up again, in a dark olive shirting fabric, which I love. Haven't photographed it yet.
Oh, and I'm thinking coated denim can be worn year-round in Seattle, at least I'll do so! I'm surprised how it feels just as comfy as regular denim.

Lol! That is too funny. What a great jacket--it's amazing on you. Of course, I can't remember the pattern name but the lines, hem and neckline look very similar. Mine was shorter and much prefer your longer version. Those coated skinnies are all kinds if awesome. I almost bought a pair but got scared of by the laundry instructions. Enjoy them a little extra for me, please.

You dress so distinctively, but without any hint of "costume" or the dreaded "trying too hard." Excellent choices in fabric, texture, silhouette, color, and footwear.

I'm intrigued by how you belted at the low waist in 3. I've always failed at belting at the high waist. For some reason it makes me anxious.

Wow, Liz, I hadn't even thought about that. Hmmm. I just put the belt where it felt comfortable to wear. I see now it is kind of low; my natural waist is so high that wearing waistlines there looks and feels awkward to me.

I always enjoy seeing your outfits, FC. Your style is like a breath of fresh air to me: so creative but not over-the top artsy.

Outfit #1 here is a stunner! The coated jeans are the slightly daring touch that makes the whole outfit so current.

I'm also loving the boxy jacket in 2 and 3. Seeing the things you've made makes me want to start sewing again. It was a great creative outlet for me, but then I went through a phase when I just didn't have time. Now that I'm scaling back at work a little, I might just have to take it up again.

I agree with the others that your shoes, accessories, and gorgeous hair are fabulous finishing touches in all your outfits.

I am in awe of your sewing skills! I agree with Beth Ann as to your style. You look fab in each of these outfits but #1 is particularly striking.

Karie, thanks--I enjoy your outfit posts. I will watch for any of your own creations, too.
Makrame, kkards, Parsley, and Susie, thank you! I bought the fabric for that top in #1 online on Marcy Tilton's site, and it is one that I liked even better IRL. The darker taupe in it has an almost bronze or antique gold feel to it--not shiny, but the color itself seems to shimmer a little. It's also a silky rayon, so it feels a little more dressy than some of my t-shirts.
Parsley, I returned to sewing for myself after many years of just sewing occasional home projects like curtains. You're right, it's such a great creative outlet. Hope you can get back to it soon. If you lived close, I could get you started again! But you should see if there's a chapter of the American Sewing Guild with meetings near you; the chapter here is a great community of home sewers!

#1 is so killer gorgeous, I can't stand it. WOW!! A 20 out of 10! Texture, interest and spunk!

#2 is arty and fun! Pretty too

I always love to see you posts FC, As the others have said you have a lovely artsy vibe which isn't over the top. All three iterations a fab. I love the items you made yourself especially. The striped linen shirt is a stand out for me, and I think the edgy trousers are a great pairing. lovely shoes too
