Some of you know how disappointed I was to receive the wrong Kork Ease boots while shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. The reason I was excited about the boots in the first place is NOT because I need another pair of booties (right, hardly!), but because I really like the comfort of a pair of Kork Ease booties that I already own, the Stina. I had recently thought I'd like to get another pair of shoes from the brand--if I came across some that I liked. And I had also thought about getting another pair of Stinas, since the ones I have were stained (something dripped onto them from under the car on a rainy day, and it wouldn't come off), and I had grown less fond of the color over the last year anyway.
Enter the surprise block-heeled Mindo bootie at NAS--it was my wish come true, and better yet, it was available in burgundy, a color that seemed hand-picked for me.
Meanwhile, I had decided to try dyeing my old Kork Ease Stinas, and after consulting with Johnny, where I bought the dye, I decided to try navy blue. I'm pretty happy with the results. It's not perfect--so I won't be going into the shoe-dyeing business anytime soon--but I think I'll wear them. I like that they came out a deep indigo blue. During the dyeing process, they looked quite purplish, but after I applied navy shoe polish, they came out the color I wanted!
And I'm still holding out hope that I will get a pair of burgundy leather Mindos.
