Please forgive the glum expression. I don't know what caused that, and didn't realize it till I uploaded the pics to my computer. I was coming down with a cold and feeling pretty draggy though.

First pic, what I wore to get my passport picture taken. By some incredible miracle, the passport pic was actually good. The one five years ago looked like a mug shot of some floozy. Oy. Concerning the clothes, I was experimenting with combining brown (the pants) and grey (the shirt and jacket). The magic scarf came to the rescue to tie it together and add a bit of colour. I wore my white wool coat, heeled booties, and 20s style retro hat out, and felt almost too well dressed. ;o) More visible than I'm used to being.

Day before I stayed home, and gave myself the challenge of making Soul-Sucking-Beige presentable. Square shawl was the magic-maker this time (I hope), adding some colour closer to the face and tying the navy and beige together. The richness of the paisley seemed to call for a response, so I wore filigree earings and a torsade chain. As per Angie's blog post, I like turtlenecks, despite having a short and aging neck, but I do tend to add a scarf or necklace (or both) to establish better proportions.

As always, comments and suggestions are welcome.
