A couple of WIWs just to say I'm still here...and a belt preview

Houseguests, SUPER hot weather (in which fashion takes a back seat to survival), preparing to teach my summer class, and various other obligations have really kept me away from YLF over the past few weeks....and probably will through the end of the month. But I just wanted to check in and say hi! Here are a couple of WIWs:

#1 - My go-to black dress formula for those days when it was 100 degrees! I'm trying it here with a hip-slung belt I just ordered. Stay tuned: this belt-phobic is actually starting to experiment a little with belts.

#2 - Tunic over bermudas for a cookout at friends' this past weekend. I'm also wearing some great wooden beads from Etsy.

Good luck to all of you shopping the NAS. Not sure if I'll get anything or not, but I'll enjoy seeing everyone's purchases!

WOW! That's a very different belt there! Love it! makes all the difference to a simple black summer dress.
And your all whites are also perfect! Glad, you're still here, Nancy:-)

I love the belt with the black dress and the tunic looks perfect for a cookout. It's finally cooled down here but we had about 3 weeks of 100+ degree weather and I can understand how it can sap any desire for style. All I wore were shorts, tanks and flip-flops.

Very cool belt. And I love the tunic's long (sun-screening) sleeves and high collar with long necklace --- great balancing act with the shorts, and reminds me of silhouettes back home.

You are looking fab in the heat Nancylee! I love your new belt! It's really chic, and I bet it's a bit cooler than one sitting on the waist would be. Love your light, cool hues for the cook-out as well. That gauzy top looks divine!
