Before I left on my trip, I ordered this dress from Anthro and am inclined to keep it. I actually had to return and reorder it in a smaller size because it runs quite large. The model must be 6 ft tall and wearing an XXS or have that dress pinned behind her back, because it is big! I had to size down to a S.

Even though it looks nothing like the model, I like it on me. It's easy and beeezy and simple for summer. I always do well to add one summer dress a year, because I'm hard on my summer clothes and if I'm lucky, I'll get two summers out of a dress like this. I do still have a couple of casual dresses from previous summers that still have some life in them so I can wear them this year as well.

I know the shorts probably won't meet everyone's approval. I wear clamdigger length shorts a lot in the summer, but sometimes I just want something shorter. Casual is good for me, so these are totally appropriate for how I spend my summer days. My studio is hot and shorts are a good thing. These are from Lucky Brand. I have an old pair of Lucky cutoff style denim shorts that have seen probably 6 years of wear, so they're worn out enough that they're ready to go live at the ranch.

So here are two possible candidates to replace my old denim shorts. One has the white embroidered detail, which makes them feel current. The others are simpler but a darker wash. Both fit perfectly and feel like they will loosen with wear, so they'll have some ease and will actually end up looking longer because they'll end up sitting lower on my hips. They were a good enough deal that I would consider keeping both. I don't have many shorts these days, and what I do have are all several years old, so I could use them. I included a pic of the dark wash ones unrolled, but I think I like them better rolled for some reason.

Last are the mottled camo-ish print pants from Anthro. I'm not sure about these. They fit, but since I came back from my trip, they actually feel a little loose (yay! Must be all the hiking). But the print means they really only work with solid tops, so I'm thinking maybe I should hold out for a solid color neutral cargo pant instead.

Feedback welcome! Please ignore undone hair, no makeup, and bashed-up legs. My home is trying to kill me. Not only did I sprain my ankle on my stairs a few weeks ago, but I took a tumble in the driveway yesterday and twisted the *other* ankle and scraped my knee. Plus hiking bruises. I'm a mess!
