Vix - the links in that article were very helpful. Maya will be interested to know that http://www.lulalu.com gives the same measuring instructions as she does.
I read through Maya's long thread, and according to her method and Lula Lu's, I'm a 32D. I don't understand that at all because most 34 bands I have tried on have been too snug in the band before considering anything in the cup size, and every 32 band I've tried on hasn't even been able to close. Maybe it's because I've been looking at cheaper locations - Target, JC Penney, etc.
I know I need to start looking elsewhere, but I really am in the middle of nowhere as far as shopping is concerned. I also have been hesitant to spend much money so far because my new teeny tiny size is due to losing 50 pounds. My weight has been pretty much the same for 3 months now, but my shape is still changing.
In the meantime, I was at Target last night so I tried on everything I could get my hands on and ended up coming home with a 34C. It's not perfect, but it's better than anything I currently own, so it will help tide me over before I chomp down and order a bunch of stuff or am able to visit a store like Intimacy. I looked online and found that the better department stores in my area have 32D's available online at least, so that will at least make returns easier.
Could it be that the cheaper brands have conformed their sizes to the traditional sizing method but the better brands haven't?
