Coats, hands down. They have a gravitational pull for me. And I have lots of them.

I am also a jewellery person. But I still put toppers first. That was a hard choice. This is a small subsection of my jewellery collection.

I love this thread! I never thought of the concept of a "topper" person, but I definitely am one. I am a
- topper person
- sweater person (like tulle, I adore cashmere)

But most of all I am a shawl person. I likely have over 50 - cashmere in rainbow colours and baby alpaca with leather fringe and Indian wool with Rajasthani patterns and silk ombre... They make me feel exotic, elegant and cozy at the same time.

Oh, and scarves too

So many humoristic as well as astute descriptors here! It's so fun to read.
I'm a footwear person is what I want to answer... but my current boot styling journey brings me to think it might not be all me, it might be due to my climate. When I lived in warmer places, footwear was still important, but not so much as it is now.

While building my wardrobe, I have gone through many different persons and now I am a layering top person. This was a capsule that definitely needed beefing up and it's finally getting it's day. Thirteen of these layering tops are new in the past year.

The Shoe People are in good company...

Hmm. I'm jeans, cardigan, stripes. (Yikes, boring...)

Of course really I'm a book person so anything in my life that enables/doesn't prevent that is fine

I'd say I'm a bit of a shoe person. Most specifically, boots and slip-on sneaker person. I used to be a high heel statement shoe person, but that makes no sense for my lifestyle these days, so now its boots and sneakers. As evidenced by the finds (which include some historical items as well as all current, but not some recent acquisitions LOL)

Shoes in all their glorious diversity-boots, booties, heels of all heights, open and closed toe. I love them all. I am currently searching for white bucks. So far I can only find them in mens' sizes. If anyone has a good lead, please let me know.

shoe person, here.

I am a COLLECTING person !
Put me in a new second hand shop and generally I am interested first in shoes, second in jackets, and then everything else. I always eyeball handbags, jewelry and sunglasses. Dresses and then skirts. Jeans and trousers although those are much harder to find. I am least interested in shirts and blouses, which is not to say I won't look. Sweaters only if I have lots of time. Have I missed anything? Let's put it like this, given the opportunity, I will look at every item in a second hand store and if there is anything worth while I will probably find it.

Love all these collections. I’m with LaPed - definitely a gear person. I wear it almost every day. “Will work for 3layer Gortex!” I wish I could buy stock in Patagonia. I have a few things in Finds.

Now I’m working on adding some fashion to the function,

LOL I realized that I am also a graphic tee person. Y’all are gonna laugh at this... my collection in the photos. A couple are in the laundry, and another are dedicated sleepwear so in my pj drawer. Plus I have a stack in a storage box in the basement of ones I don’t intend to wear but want to keep for some crazy nostalgia reason. Some of these go back to my college radio days (I spy one that dates to 1984), but I still wear them.

I went to a show a couple of nights ago and had to stop myself from getting another tee. When I saw St Vincent recently, I was pleasantly surprised that her merch table had knit beanies — royal blue with “Fear the Future” on them. I wear it when I hike on cold days.

I don’t have them all in Finds, but I dare say this is the closet of a Shoe Person.
(In my defense, the bottom left has some of my husband’s shoes — he has some shoe storage in his side of the closet and it spills over into mine. But some of my sandals are up in storage for the season — I’ll switch them out with the tall boots when April rolls around.

I am a shoe person first, then a dress person, a jewelry person, and a stripes person. But my first love, since I was a little child, it's dresses. Just like Suz remember all her favorite shoes since she was a kid, I remember all my favorite dresses since the age of two or three. Shoe love was an acquired love in my late teens and early twenties.

All my life I've been a toppers & shoes person. I'd LOVE to become a tops persons as these are the hardest for me

That's such a hard question! I'm definitely a shoe person, but I would probably also qualify for "blazer person" and "earrings person". And "hiking gear and gadgets person".

I have thought about this and I am 'just a' clothes person. I really enjoy having nice things about me and putting them together well, and then just feeling appropriately dressed. Good question! Great answers!
