9/15 WIW: RIP beloved sandals

So sad to have scraped the front of my favorite neutral gladiators on the driveway today.

So our last parting outfit: skinny jeans, olive shirt, owl zipper necklace, studded bag with side tassels, straw fedora, and sandals from Target that have served me 3 summers.

My favorite dalmation print calf hair sneakers died this year. It was hard. Feel your grief; you will fall in love with a pair of shoes again when the time is right.

Eeek. It's terrible when one of your favorite pairs of shoes are no longer wearable. But the rest of your outfit looks great!

What about a light brown sharpie? A wood stain stick meant for furniture? Just a thought, since someone would have to be at eye level with your big toe to see it a little clever concealing might save them.

Ah, so sad. I know that feeling. You could probably do a temporary rescue, but I'd say pass them on at the end of the season, regardless -- you'll never be as happy with them even if you do manage to revive them.

You look great, by the way.

IK, I don't think it's worth it to take these inexpensive sandals to a shoe repair place. As others have mentioned, 3 long summers gave me excellent CPW.

Thimblelina, those sneaks were super cute! Did you find a replacement for them?

Oh, I did exactly that same thing on some cage sandals in Greece! I was however able to duplicate and now I still take the ruffed up pair to Greece on holiday and keep the others for home. I'm planning on putting some tough varnish along the front edge to protect my new ones. Your outfit looks great. I love olive green and I too have an owl pendant, yours is lovely. BTW I had thought about gluing some kind of tape or mesh or something similar on my pair of scuffed sandals along both front edges to match the colour of the leather if I can find such a thing. Maybe you could try that?
