5.6 in the spirit of keeping it real, plus wacky new tights and new hair

I like these "keeping it real" posts, a la Janet. What we 'really' wear on days off. I"m on the fence about these tights - love them but..... Story: picked them up yesterday on a complete impulse. Made in Canada by an aboriginal designer, and the designs in the shop window caught my eye. I was set to buy just an infinity scarf with this print, but then the shop owner showed me the tights. Bought both - but doubt I'd wear them together #matchymatchynonono . They are $$, but fit and feel like a dream, plus the face down the side!! I don't need them, they don't fill a hole, I mean, I have lots to wear . But they are so unique, which I like, plus I'm a sucker for a great pair of tights. Weekend casual wear for running to the garden centre, grocery store, library, drug store , wine store etc. Working out - yes, if my tanks are long enough . There is nothing less flattering than white lycra on the lower third of one's torso/ stomach . I don't care how fit you are.
Went back to blonde yesterday - what a huge relief. I liked the red, but it was starting to feel too dark and heavy and it's impossible to maintain in harsh summer sun anyways. Hope everyone is enjoying a lovely weekend - temperature seems to be dropping today here and sun is officially under cloud. So much for all the yard work I had planned Thoughts on artsy tights most welcome - inlcuding, but not limited to: "Lisa, you are tad long in the tooth for this look now."

Well this is a very cool look. Love the tights, love the scarf. Maybe not together but then again, if you're in the mood.... It's fun to be a little loopy sometimes. I would love a pair of those tights for yoga. And PS, your hair looks beautiful. Love it with the earrings.

Looked at the pics first, then read about your hair... you look full of vim and vibrant, and I realized it must be the hair. The red was good, but maybe not, um, 'innocent.'

The stockings and scarf are awesome.

Sharing your source link probably reduces overall comments to your post, or at least speed of reply. Lucky for my wallet, those scarves don't come in natural fibers.

Love the tights! And isn't it a wonderful feeling to have hair that works the way you want it to, with just the amount of effort you find manageable.

minimalist - I too wish that the scarf wasn't in a plain old poly. Doesn't quite jive with their eco-friendly mission-statement. It's a one-woman design 'team' though so I suppose they are still in a learning curve.

Plus, the price point in silk, with quality (NOT spoonflower-ish) image rendition would be...well, I would still pay it. But I can understand the hesitation on their part.

Those tights make me wish I wore them!

I have no idea what you are talking about - lol- vis a vis a spoonflowerish image, but I'd pay for a better fabric in a scarf too.

Your new hair looks great, I also like to go lighter for summer and darker for winter, it just seems to suit the clothing better. I love the tights, they give you a surprise on the side! Great colours too.

You know, I love red hair, but I think I prefer the blonde on you too! It looks really natural and *you* somehow. The color has great depth, and it's a perfect shade for your skin tone.

I think the tights/leggings are so fun! I always look at the fun patterned workout leggings and never even bother trying them on because of my lovely lower-body issues (yeah, let's make those thighs look even bigger with some PATTERN! eek!). But you wear them beautifully. I love how you've kept everything else really simple and sleek. And I like how your phone case works with them too.

Lipstick - combo of Urban Decay , and Bobbi Brown Art Stick . I'm too far away from my makeup box to get the exact colours ;). And geez, I have to blend that eyeliner a bit better .

Your hair looks great - not the standard blonde but something that works beautifully with your coloring. Totally see the appeal of the tights. I love big earrings but actually I find these a bit overwhelming on you - might very well be just me though.

Jaime- I know what you mean about the earrings - and I didn't love them with this outfit . I would normally wear small studs with tights and sneakers . Sometimes these seem to work and other times not so much .

Also really like the tights and scarf. Fun! Well styled - sometimes patterned leggings can steal the show, but somehow you've made them seem very much a part of a total outfit rather the only thing to look at. KWIM?
