Summer weekends=Beach weekend traffic. Nevertheless we made a reservation to have our wedding anniversary lunch at the Ritz Carlton at Half Moon Bay, a favorite place to celebrate. Predicted temp in San Jose 92°, at Half Moon Bay 65°. I ruled out sandals--my feet get cold easily and besides, my next pedi appointment isn't until next Saturday. Wanted to wear BR snakeskin skirt for first time, tried it with fringed Tahari top, put on black jacket, and it was too much dark, so switched to Nik+Zoe top. Well, they didn't have the air condition on in the Conservatory (new name and decor but still good food.)

And I brought my first Chanel bag--the classic 2 flap 1955 style that I bought in 2004. Judging from what I found online I could sell it for more than double the price I paid back then.

We had a long leisurely lunch followed by a walk along the edge the golf course and to the Coastal Access point, but we didn't want to actually go down to the beach. Lots of people out enjoying the not-too warm sun. Many dresses--fun to see people dressed up.

I need to try on the skirt with different jackets. I think my red denim would have looked better with the black, but I'll have to figure it out.

Looking back I'm pretty amazed at what we did: We were college students the first 5 years of our marriage. In 1970 DH graduated from law school at USC, and earned an MPA along with it, and I got my BA from UCLA. Very little help from parents: we had scholarships, student loans, and part time work. (got my law degree in 1977.)

We had two kids, ('66 and '68) and I had gall bladder surgery between the two ('67). {Didn't plan to get pregnant so soon after the surgery, but these things happen.)

For entertainment we'd toss the kids in the back seat in their pjs (no seat belts or car seats required then) and go to the drive in movies or to Hollywood and Sunset Blvds. to look at the hippies and the colorful outfits, or else we'd go to Griffiths Park and look at the hippies and listen to free concerts.
