You look very nice! The top is lovely - both shape and colour. You should definitely get a smaller one for later.

Katerina, thanks for the enabling :). Unfortunately it looks like my preferred colors of Burgundy or teal are out of stock in my size. There are a couple similar tops at JJill that might try this weekend.

Ha ha, you are most welcome! Burgundy will be lovely too.

Just catching up. You are looking fantastic Toban, I hope you are proud of your progress. It's so great that you are sharing how you evaluate the fit of your pieces, and how you are not at all reluctant to move on the things that no longer fit. I

Your jewellery collection is also great to see!

Elizabeth P, I am super proud of my progress. I hit two milestones yesterday -- reaching 60 lb weight loss in 10 months -- and completing my first unassisted wide grip pull up!! I've been working towards my pull up for the past 3 months and I've finally built the upper body strength (and lost enough weight) to be able to pull my body weight up.

My words may come across unsentimental, pragmatic, and practical, and generally I am all those things. However, I have had many anxious moments along the way. Wanting to maximize what I have, minimize spending money on things that won't fit. I think this current transition is the hardest because I am about 15 pounds from my goal weight so I still want to keep a micro wardrobe.

GREAT top on you, Toban. Thanks for the pic. Precise Casual is your thing.

Do you need another pair of specs?

Thanks, Angie. Precise Casual absolutely works for my non-office days. And yes, I do need new glasses and plan to replace this spring.

Ha! My face has changed shape a fair bit with my weight loss and my face is more angular now (it was round/square/full before). I do love the color of my current specs, a purplish Burgundy.

I am so glad you are posting WIWs. I am very impressed at your progress and discipline. Pull ups are crazy hard- especially for most women.

When I lost weight I made a lot of purchasing mistakes because I didn't recognize how my body had changed, and just bought the same shapes because I was excited to find things that fit.

The face shape is an interesting observation. I think I have gone from rounder/square to more angular as well.

Day 25, dressing down my pencil skirt with a burgundy tunic. With burgundy tights and black booties. As part of this challenge I have been attempting to not repeat the exact work outfit, hence switching out more dressy tops for the tunic. Sufficiently dressy for today’s set of meetings.

Great outfit, I love this skirt and necklace. It looks fab with the tunic.

Great remix! I love those booties on you.

Day 26, navy column with burgundy and rust accents. I was surprised that I had not worn the v-neck navy cable knit sweater in the challenge thus far. I like its fit and had worn it a lot in December. I think it might have been because January has had fewer office days than expected and because I was trying to get more wears out of some other tops. I think it might feature in February’s wardrobe.

I am definitely missing a few posts here and there. My sincere apologies. I think when the post slips to the second page, I forget to look past the first page.

I especially loved this particular post. I am deeply interested in the outfits (lines, silhouettes, accessories) you are using as you progress along your fitness journey. I have never had much success with tunic length tops, but you have convinced me with your WIWs that this silhouette needs further experimentation.

May I respectfully ask your height? I am wondering if the tunic tops look so fabulous on you because they fall perfectly for a woman of your height. Perhaps my previous issues were related to the wrong length of tunic on my frame. I have made it my goal to experiment with different lengths. (I have also been noting the brands you buy as well).

Day 25 is one of my favorite outfits of this selection. It has a classiness that I would love to emulate. I also like how your pointy shoes extend the leg length in Day 26.

Congratulations on wide-gripped pull ups!!!!!!!!!!!! What a fabulous accomplishment. And to brag about at every single opportunity. I would probably post of picture of me outside my office and point it out to coworkers as they pass .....

Sterling, sure, I can elaborate on the tunics and my height. I am 5'2" and firmly in the petite size category. The right tunic is very hard for me to find. I never wore them for a long time because most of the fits fell too straight from the chest and thus were boxy and bulky around the waist, and often too long or too short for my preferred length. My ideal tunic tapers in at the waist and flares out at the hips (to balance my upper half). Most still do not work, but once I find the right one I love wearing them. This particular tunic was no exception to fit problems, but was solved with the help of an amazing sales person at JJill. I tried on 3 sizes until I found the right one. The petite medium was way too voluminous, the petite small was slightly too tight but more importantly the side slits went to high. Although I loved the cowl neck and material, I was ruling it out completely (as close but not quite right) until the sales person brought me a regular small. It fit exactly how I wanted it to, with a bit a stretch at the chest, draping towards my waist, and the length worked well. A perfect example of playing with sizes to get the fit *you* want. Of course, she then also brought me it in the teal and I couldn't choose between the burgundy and teal, so I bought both (on 30% sale) and violated my *no duplicates* rules. They have been work horses in my casual wear. Having an excellent sales person who listens to what I like/don't like about a fit of an item and who knows the store selection inside and out has often resulted in some fantastic purchases that I wouldn't necessarily have gotten from my own browsing. Or simply being willing to grab other sizes for me. I have *zero* patience for a sales person who says everything looks great or who doesn't check back on whether I need a different size.

BLESS YOUR PPL's on Day 26, Toban. Gorgeous proportions, especially with the pointy toe booties.

Thank you, Toban. The information is so helpful. I am 5'9" (doctor) or 5'10" (me), depending on who you talk to.

Toban- These are fabulous as usual :). I especially like the pencil skirt and burgundy tunic and day 26.

My shape (a definitive pear) is different than yours but the key to good fit in tunics is the same for me. It has to skim my body in the bust and underbust area then can flare out (or not) otherwise it just looks sloppy. The correct length is also crucial. It is a challenge to find one that fits well as these do.

Your day 26 outfit is really great, I love it. And you are wearing my favourite pair of your pants ADORABLE - especially with the lovely suede booties.

Karen13, Katerina, SarahD8, Sterling, Angie, Lynn, I appreciate all of your comments on the latest two WIWs. You have helped build my confidence in sharing the photos. My husband really loved both of these outfits (skirt/tunic and today's flares making me look long and lean). I also really liked Day 25's skirt and tunic, which was a somewhat different silhouette than normal for me. I usually pair a pencil skirt with a hip bone length close fitting top, but this pairing was a successful experiment. It worked because the tunic had some tapering below the bust line through waist. I'm enjoying trying new silhouettes.

Karen13, thanks for sharing your own weight loss experience. I think my face change is one of the things that people first notice about my weight loss. I am looking forward to trying new silhouettes on my new shape. Good point about being careful to not make mistakes simply because things now fit! I've been there, done that, too.

Sterling, Pencil skirts and dress pants with a flare or boot cut have been flattering and elongating in general for me. I almost always wear a 2"+ heel. And rarely anything below 1".

Angie, I knew you would approve!

Lynn, so many of the same tips work for many body shapes. I get frustrated with the shapeless clothes out there. Where is the body skimming, not body con, tops? It seems like they all drop straight from the chest. Ugh. I wear almost exclusively materials with stretch and drape, not stiff, as a result.

Katerina, I can always count on you to chime in with compliments. Thank you!

Katerina, Ha! These are currently my only pair of non-jean pants. I LOVE them, too. I love this silhouette. With heels and these pants, my 5'2" looks tall and slim.

Hi Toban! I am just catching up on this post. Sorry I missed it. I am so glad that you are posting pics! Bravo!
I really love the colours that you wear. I am a big fan of burgundy and teal. Love the pencil skirt outfit and the PPL flares. Very flattering and elegant.

Love hearing that this process is confidence-boosting, Toban. Like hearing hubs give you positive feedback too.

I’m loving the burgundy and teal as well. I really like the skirt and tunic outfit and the navy with rust.

And if so many of us want skimming yet not body con clothing, why is it so hard to find?

I agree, tanstaafl, it’s either boxy, wide/flowy or body-con. It’s doubly challenging when I am a size bigger on top to fit my chest than on bottoms. I end up with way too much fabric at waist. Perhaps tailoring is a solution.

Gorgeous outfits, Toban! The tunic and patterned skirt is one of my favorites on you. Beautiful colors and shaping. Oooh, those booties on day 26——— I vote them Killer! I really enjoy seeing your pics and am impressed with how your are working your wardrobe during your weight loss.

Catching up on this weekend's outfits. Didn't get WIW photos.

Day 27: Bootcut jeans, new grey t-shirt from Athleta, black asymmetric cardigan (no find) and black booties. Raven wing necklace.

Day 28: Straight jeans, Burgundy tunic, Burgundy suede booties.

ALWAYS a treat to see that raven necklace!
I like the tonal burgundy in day 28, too.
