At the end of week 3 I have 13 outfits using 25 pieces of clothing (excluding shoes and scarves and under layers for warmth). Two of these pieces are being donated due to being too tight. The purple sweater in outfit 1 and the black/white striped shirt from week one that I had worn under the blush sweater. I tried to wear it on its own this week, but it didn’t make it out the door. I can make it work standing still, but as soon as I move it starts pulling and gaping at the buttons on the bust. Unfortunately I got dressed in a rush and in the dark for outfit 1 and didn’t notice the problems with the purple sweater until I was at the office.

I am aiming for the business end of the business casual spectrum, without looking too corporate.

1. Purple v-neck sweater, grey herringbone skirt, black tights and heels, purple and gold paisley silk scarf. After all those lovely compliments last week about the fit of my clothes, I started this week with a sweater that is too small. It pulls at the chest and I kept tugging at the sleeves to pull the shoulder seams back into place. I LOVE this color and haven’t found a good replacement for this sweater, but it has to go. The skirt lining also kept riding up on my tights when I walked. I’ll have to see if a slip fixes this issue.

2. Blush sweater, black ankle pants, black heels, black necklace. Is this sweater too close to my skin tone? Is the necklace enough to be my third piece or should I have added a topper or something else?

3. Grey suit, teal cowl neck shell, black ankle boots. Meetings today called for a more formal look. I would have preferred to wear my heels, but three days in a row is too hard on my feet. I need another pair of heels for work.

4. Black/white geometric print dress, black cardigan, black heels. I picked up some sheer hose for this outfit to try to avoid solid black from head to toe, but hated them. They were cheapies, too sheer and itchy. So back to my solid black tights.

And I tried smiling as requested by Mainelady.

As always, any thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
