30x30 outfit 30 column of colour (and Jackie Florrick :-)

This is the last outfit of the 30x30 challenge, 30 outfits ready and done I will come back with some musings later.

I put together today's outfit around a patterned jacket. The jacket has a little story. For a couple of years ago, I watched the TV show The Good Wife - have you guys seen it? One of the characters - a woman called Jackie Florrick (an interesting character :-)), played by Mary Beth Peil, wore this jacket on one of the episodes - I thought the jacket was interesting then. Last year, I found the jacket in a German online outlet for a great price - ordered to have some fun. It has been less fun to style it though :-).

I wear my "Jackie Florrick jacket" with navy silk shirt, navy trousers and navy silk scarf (only when Ms Mary posted her column of colour outfit today I realised that that was what I was doing). Than I added a rose gold necklace, brown bag and brown boots No 1-2. No 3-4 is a detail of the necklace and the pattern. And No 5 is Jackie Florrick wearing the jacket.

So what do you guys think? Me or Jackie?

And on a serious note - what do you think of the outfit?

I like this jacket on you. I do not watch The Good Wife, so I don't know the Jackie character, but it's weird to see the jacket being worn so much more traditionally (photo #5)--it has a great, contemporary pattern. Rose gold seems to be a perfect color for the accessories and I like the contemporary shape of the necklace you've chosen.

Wow. You look fabulous! The column of color is rich. The jacket adds a visual texture. The shoes echo the color of the jacket. Perfection.

And yet another wonderful outfit. I like the addition of a scarf, that is not something I see very often, and it really adds interest. I have to say, I am very sorry this 30 days is over, I really hope you will continue to share WIW's!

Oh, Jackie--she always reminded me of my mother: same thick hair held by a hairband, same chic sense of what suited her, even into her eighties. That is a striking jacket--how cool that you were able to find it! I like the way you've styled it here. The contrasting column of navy works.

Love the way you styled this and what a fun find. The necklace peeking out is fabulous. I don't have your graceful neck, so I'm not sure I can pull off these great scarf/necklace combos, but I will have to try.

The jacket is a masterpiece, love it with the darks underneath! I always love to watch and get some inspirations from TV shows, I haven't see this one yet but one of my latest fave ref. fashion and theme was The House of Cards.
BTW, we are pendant (and name) twins, too:-)), thus mine is on a longer necklace, and think is not rose gold but gold.:-).

Emily K, thank you very much! You are right, it is a very different and traditional styling of the jacket on the TV show, but it is nice on Jackie, I think. It is soft, combined with a subtle green. It suits Mary Beth Peil's colouring on the show and also the character. Unfortunately, I could not find a better picture, this one comes across a little pale.

Karen13, thank you very much for the lovely compliments! I am happy my scarf-necklace mix made you inspired - how fun! I am sure you find a great combo, you are always so chic and your outfits are always interesting. I happen to have a rather long neck, which makes it easier to wear larger, broader scarves. But a good tip for those who do not like a lot of fabric around the neck is to cut scarves in half (of course if the fabric allows it), or try to find a narrower, smaller models.
