Thank you all for your comments! You have really changed how I see this outfit.
Bonnie and tanstaafl, thank you for being emergency first responders on which way round the sweater goes. Rachylou and Bella, thanks for your confirmation.
Joy, Sterling, Krishnadoux, Jenni NZ, I’m almost inspired enough to go put it on with a black cami instead of the gold and a necklace (probably the one in my post about metallics) right now. Almost. Krishna, thank you for taking the time to point out how the bootcut, high waist, and curved hem all work together to simulate the willowy profile that used to be so obviously me.
SarahD8, LBD, Katerina, lol, you guys are awesome. This isn’t the first time I’ve been compared to Hermoine, even though I haven’t read the books either. I’ll try to hang onto this lightweight sweater here as it warms up, and layering over it would be a great way to use that V-neck in a cooler climate.
Anytime I get a footwear compliment from Jenni NZ, I count it as a win. Katerina, Bonnie, Tanstaafl, thank you for complimenting the boots too. I bought them on a trip north one Christmas when I entirely forgot any kind of appropriate shoes, and I wore them sledding last week.
Angie, thanks. What shape skirt are you thinking of?
Jenni NZ, lol. When I set up my fall challenge, I cleared everything out of a section of my closet for it, and put challenge things on a rod or in a hanging set of shelves there. The sweater is lightweight, as SarahD8 mentioned. When I put a few other items on top of it, I shoved it to the back of the hanging thing so it got lost among the approx 40 items in that section.
