Love it! And in fact I like it better this colour than when it was blonder. This really suits your skin tone. You're lucky to have such a wonderful head of hair to work with

Lovely! And what great smiles in these pictures!

Thank you Shevia, Column, Sterling, Kathie, Suz, Deb and Cardiff Girl You are all so kind.

Lyn67, thank you. We were celebrating at DD’s best friend’s wedding. Happiness everywhere.

Thank you Windchime. I am really happy with the decision.

Angie, I do like my hair, but your comment is the icing on my happiness cake.

Barbara Dianne, the toner brightens the hair (I have learned that toner comes in different colors). The toner helps cut the brassiness (is that a word?) that can occur due to environment, heat, product use, etc.
Sara L, I bet yours will look even better when your hair decides to lose pigment.

Thank you Jenni, yes! Seeing these beautiful young women (and young men, too) go out and take on the world is a great feeling.

Thank you Lisa P. I like this better than the blonder shades, too. Some of the blond was from my own lightened hair, some from the highlights and some from the previous toner used. As more and more of my own silver white gain in length we are going with cooler shades of the toner, when needed. I am also using violet shampoo to keep the tones on the brighter, but cooler side. Still a work in progress!

Thanks Gretchen! Smiles are the best accessories and they are free!

So lovely, Mainelady. Perfect swingy length and style. Sublime colour.

What a great color! And dd is beautiful too

Thank you Runcarla and suntiger! We are getting so close to all of the dyed hair being gone. It will take a bit longer for what ever is left of the highlighting to get chopped, but the majority of what we see is mine. I am really happy with my white and silvery shades. I absolutely love the shine!

Wow, beautiful silver hair! I have been dying mine for ages, probably at least 20 years, and am getting to the point of letting it grow out. I'm not quite ready yet but in a few more years maybe. My grandma had snow white hair as long as I knew her so I hope when I decide to grow mine out it will be like hers (I can tell from the roots that I am a lot white right now) and not a mousy half-white half-brown color.

So beautiful! I've also stopped dying my hair (about a year ago) and am really enjoying the freedom from so much time and money spent in the chair.

It is making some of my friends uncomfortable though! One told me that seeing white hair in my hairline makes HER feel old. Interesting, isn't it? How other people's aging can remind us of our own.

Hi Mainelady --

Almost to the finish line and looking fantastic -- you look 100% to me so I'll say welcome to the club!

Such a great mix of shades in your mix, too.

I'm with you on wishing I'd never started dyeing but also started greying young (in my teens). I'm so glad there's more support -- at least online -- for people who are "precocious!" and want to go natural in their 20s and 30s. Or, er...a few decades older like us.

Enjoy!

Your DD is gorgeous.
You have lovely grey hair mainlady!

Thank you Robin F, Niki Lea, Vix and Smittie!
Robin F I think our parents hair gives us a good glimpse of how our own might look. Both of my parents had salt and pepper hair while I was growing up. My dad ended up with a shiny head of silver hair and my mom is now pure white. It is looking like I have a mix of both.

Niki Lea, it is interesting how our looks can cause others to reflect upon their own aging process. One of my friends jokes that she likes sitting beside me, because she looks even younger. LOL

Vix, the current support and popularity of gray on people of all ages has certainly made my process easier. Even without the support, I was ready for the change. I do have a mix of shades, especially underneath and in the back. Behind my ears and toward the nape of my neck I still have quite a bit of brown, with silvery white threading through it.
