2 WIWs including steel scarf for Una

1-2: WIW 042512 - I think this will be a love it or hate it outfit for most of you. I'm trying something a little different with a belted sweater tunic over a maxi skirt. Added some toughness with the leather moto jacket, chain link bracelets, and big belt. PS- Does anyone have a good trick for holding down the flappy end of the belt? It's too wide to loop under itself.
Wearing: handknit tunic, w118 skirt, Levis jacket, Gap belt, Portlandia booties, Etsy bracelets

3-4: WIW 042612 - In honor of Una and her fab Helmut Lang sweater, I am wearing a scarf that I handknit out of stainless steel yarn. This feels very Victorian UWP to me!
Wearing: Dorothy Perkins blouse, Tulle dress, Steve Madden boots, handknit scarf.

Love everything about the second outfit Diana! What a cool scarf. I can not really comment on the first one, as I personally dislike non-formal maxi skirts, so have no clue how they are supposed to be styled.

Love the second outfit especially, Diana. The scarf is fab, gorgeous dress and boots! I think the first one looks great too and is true to your sense of style! Re: the belt, I place a clear rubber band around the belt and tuck the loose end inside of it. If you don't have clear, just match your belt color.

So for your belt: I always sneak a clear hair elastic onto the belt that doesn't play friendly--it will hold the flapping excess belt down without much notice from passersby enjoying your loveliness and cool vibe.

You layer so well, Diana! For the belt, sometimes I'll use those colored paperclips or a black binder clip to hold the tail down. Not the most high-tech, but they're usually small enough to position under a belt loop if you have one and, if not, they don't stand out too much.

The scarf is amazing and yes, slight Victorian/Steampunk vibe here that I'm diggin' hard!

Both amazing looks! Especially outfit 2 - just the height of perfection.

STAINLESS STEEL yarn?! How UWP can you get? I love love love it! Must force knitting friend to knit something with it ASAP. It looks a lot like my sweater, actually. In the sun I could even see tiny glints of metal.

Bonus for you in branching out into new looks! I use fashion tape for my belts to hold them if I can't hide a binder clip on them somewhere.

The scarf is really cool.

That scarf is amazing! I have seen things like it and been fascinated but didn't really know what it was. Love outfit #2.
I like #1 with the jacket a lot with the layers in their glory - the belt is distracting me and chopping wonderful you in half in the first pic. Sorry

And thanks also for the belt securing suggestions - I knew you guys would have some clever ways of fixing the problem! I have tons of black hair elastics lying around so that will probably be easiest for me with this belt at least.

Mo, the scarf is not scratchy, but the metal does make it feel a bit crunchy. The steel yarn is actually a really fine steel wire wrapped in silk, so I think that softens it a bit, and there are no pointy or pokey bits.

Both great outfits Diana. I really like #1 particularly with the jacket and scarf. It's very Diana:). And the dress is 2 is gorgeous. I really lmike your style Diana:)
