I have always liked Angie's ideas for layering woven shirts under knit tops - like this http://youlookfab.com/2011/12/.....ttoned-up/ . However, I usually cannot layer buttondowns under knits because they bunch up. I have also been wearing fewer thin knit tops because of all the bulges they highlight, especially when worn over jeans (even the jean waistband looks like an unsightly bulge).

Now that I have some thin polyester shirts, I decided to try layering again.

The collar of the blouse is actually more visible in real life, just looks blurred in the photos 2-3. This is a softer variation on Angie's crisp look. I found out that a thin woven shirt worn untucked actually helps smooth out the bulges.

It also turns out that this combination is perfect layering weight for my slightly chilly office. Wool sweaters are usually too warm and blouses too lightweight but a thin blouse with a thin cotton top is quite comfortable, and I can even wear a blazer over.

Suggestions and opinions welcome! BTW, if there are any tricks to keep longer sleeves scrunched under 3/4 sleeved jacket, please let me know! The sleeves in #2 kept creeping out and I had to re-scrunch them.
