07/26 WIW to return the Blondo's : (

1) My Nordstrom is in an indoor mall. Normally when I go shopping, I try to look put together, but nothing particularly special. However, when I know I'm going to Nordstrom, I feel the need to try a bit more. Am I the only one that thinks this way?

2) Close-up of my new neon yellow earrings from Nordstrom Rack earlier this month. Dipping my toes in the neon trend!

So I returned the Blondo's and looked at the hoisery. I almost bought the Commando big dots, but then decided that they would overwhelm my chicken bone legs. : P So I bought the Nordstrom brand black sheer hose. Anyone have any reviews on the house brand? I also got a pair of Hue black tights with a chevron type pattern.

I then stepped into the shoe department to see if they had any animal print flats calling my name. I tried on the DV by Dolce Vita 'Folly' Bootie

Very fun, but I felt that I wouldn't wear it much.

I then spied these Sam Edelman Jalen flats:

So comfy and the pointy gold studs made me happy for some reason. The colors seem to go nicely with my skintone, so I said yes even though they were not on sale.

3) Got home and took this picture to show y'all...BLAH!!! They look like house slippers! What was I thinking?! Maybe Nordstrom shoe mirrors have a magic spell to make you think that your feet look FAB in their shoes. Yep, that's the story I'm sticking with!

4) Comparison to my favorite Payless leopard flats that I'm trying to replace with better quality. Hmmm...the black on the vamp helps break up the animal print. I guess I have to look for something similar. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Oh man, I have to come up with another Nordstrom shopping outfit!!

Jem found some super leopard skin flats. I've ordered them too! Your own DON'T look like slippers. @La Francaise - Those look nice! I've tried on many Me Too's but they don't fit my foot comfortably.

Those earrings are awesome! And yes, I do feel I have to try more going to certain stores. Nordies is one - and especially if it is in a fancier mall!

The shoes do kinda look like house slippers... too bad. :T But with how hard leopard was trending, you should find something perfect if you keep looking.

Such a disappointment about the leopard flats. I totally see what you mean, though. Yours are crisper. I suspect La Francaise is right, that the structure of the pointy toe helps them. I have leopard flats that I love, and they are pointy too. Hmmmm. Neon earrings? Very fun and super cute on you.

You made me laugh AJ - love your humour - and love your Nordstrom's return/shopping outfit! I think those "you look so fab in this" mirrors are in a lot of stores. And then there's the lighting... if it isn't the mirrors casting a spell, it's the lighting that does us in We need special "realism" glasses!

I missed the Blondo decision, but think your leopard flats look pretty cute. They definitely have the moccasin vibe, and it sounds like that's not what you're after.

I am going to add another vote to trying the Me Too Patty leopard shoes. I have also not had good luck getting Me Toos to fit properly (I have a slighty wide foot), but I ran across a pair of these at Nordstrom Rack and they fit really nicely!! I brought them home, but haven't actually worn them out and about yet.

I tried a Patty pair in the same size in all black, but it was narrower or something -- not nearly as comfortable.

No, I don't dress up for any stores but I can see the appeal. Jeje...
