“Very me” style challenge day 3

Today was a dress quickly and get out the door day (dealing with multiple contractors in multiple houses, sigh), so maybe not quite as “me” as it would have been with more planning, but this is still very representative of my style.

- denim (same jeans as yesterday)
- Kori boots again
- a touch of menswear in the long houndstooth jacket (I’m a big fan of long jackets), layered over a black cashmere hoodie and an old cream/white sweater from BR
- neutral color mix - black, brown, white, and denim blue
- a touch of pattern mixing
- statement ring and jewelry
- fun bag
- the love of a special dog (Sunny the catahoula)

I’m at the salon now waiting for my hair appointment!

Here's my catwalk speech for you: Janet is ready for anything in this rakish-yet-feminine menswear ensemble. It's comfort-chic, and every piece features interesting details -- note the hems on her stylish jeans. A look this good doesn't happen by accident, people.

Can’t forget little Tippi either. It’s hard to get a good photo with a black pug! She’s so sweet but starting to show her age.

Another hallmark of “me” style — accessories from my travels. The copper and ebony wood ring is from Zambia and the animal print scarf is from South Africa.

Janet - your fur babies are beyond delicious!! Hugs to those furry angels! Your outfit is wonderful. Hum, do I need a cashmere beanie? Looks so wonderful and practical on you.....thinking.... Love, love, love the coat and I'm all about a good cashmere hoodie, always have one and wear it layered under a coat or blazer. I really like the scarf with the jacket, I'll need to try that, very elegant and interesting. Plus it's so important to match outfit color to furry baby color. Kudos! Just wonderful and thanks so much for the puppy pics!!

Your "thrown together" style is sharper and more uniquely "you" than most people's carefully planned ensembles. The coat/ hat, scarf combo is great and I like the soft neutral with the lighter jeans. LOVE the photo of you with Sunny, and that, too, is entirely you.

Lisa, I badly need a manicure, but I'm doing too much manual work to bother (cleaning projects, etc.). I'm just going to remove this old janky nail polish and put a couple of clear coats on and call it a day.

Gryffin, I think you do need a black cashmere beanie/slouchy beret! I actually have TWO because I thought I lost one and panicked and ordered another (which is actually a little longer/slouchier). It's great for keeping warm or for a bad hair day, and it goes anywhere.
