They’re a little “out there” but totally heavenly on your feet! Cowboy boots are usually quite hard to pull on, but these are a breeze. Perfectly fab for cold Spring days when you want to wear warm shoes, but are bored of wearing dark coloured footwear. I’d wear these with jeans, a white button down shirt, dark pinstripe blazer and chunky pearl necklace. Fun, smart casual, pulled together and a little unexpected.

Naughty Monkey Boots for Wide Calves
These look nice and feel soft on the foot. Hip, casual and mega slouchy. An extra comfortable fit for wide calves and a rather roomy toe box to boot. Perfect over skinnies, Ponte knit pants and tights, or with casual frocks and skirts. I like the grey but they are also available in black, chocolate and tan. They’re available in matte leather too, but I didn’t find those quite as comfortable.
Naot “Gleam” Bootie
These booties look much better worn under jeans. Trust me! Israeli footwear brand “Naot” makes extremely comfortable shoes that mould to your foot once you put them through their paces. A great dressy walking shoe perfect for travelling and casual occasions. They have several colours too so don’t let the patent put you off. Note that as I write this they are on sale for $128.
GUESS “Lawri” Wedge in Snakeskin
When you stop looking for something, you find it. I have been longing for a comfortable pair of snake skinned, slip-on, wedged ballet flats for years and here they are! The peds are no-nonsense adorable and quite comfortable. Flexible soles and soft leather makes for happy feet. This is the first item on my Spring shopping list and I’m excited.
Clarks “Cone Sweet” Bootie
Hallelujah! A comfortable and good looking pair of 2-inch heeled shoes. This little bootie is trendy, sassy and quite versatile. It has a padded foot bed, a roomy toe box and super stable heels. The leather around the ankle is SO soft, you can’t even feel it against your skin when you walk. Available in brown, black and plum, it’s a no-brainer under boot cuts and any style of denim. But it’s just as fabulous with skirts and dresses if you keep the leg and shoe one colour. I’m really impressed with these little darlings.
Waterproof Merrell “Tetra Launch” Boot
Every urban lass commuting through bad weather could use a pair of these. They are completely waterproof and so, so sleek. I wouldn’t be putting them in the store if they weren’t cushioning and comfortable, so take that as a given. They finish under the calf so the style could work for lasses with wider calves too. They are also available in brown if black is not your thing.
Daniel Green “Kenzie” Slippers
These wool slippers aren’t quite as cozy as the Haflingers but they’re easier on the pocket. They’re also sort of half way between a supportive shoe and a comfortable bedroom slipper. You don’t feel like your feet are going to slide out of these happy little peds. Perfectly supportive and very toasty. I’ve just bought myself a pair because the tomato red colour way was too delicious to pass up. But they have several colour options if bright hues aren’t your thing.
Haflinger “Sheep” Slippers
For years these have been my number one choice of house slipper because they sort of feel like a slipper and a shoe at the same time. Soft and cozy, yet supportive and sturdy. I tend to be hard on slippers and wear them through in 6 months, but for most people this style lasts for about a year. The Doggy version of this slipper is my preference, but the lambs are cute too.
Haflinger “Doggy” Slippers
For years these have been my number one choice of house slipper because they sort of feel like a slipper and a shoe at the same time. Soft and cozy, yet supportive and sturdy. I tend to be hard on slippers and wear them through in 6 months, but for most people this style lasts for about a year. The “doggy” is juvenile-looking but I don’t care. I love dogs and I love these slippers. They make my feet and my heart happy.
Guess Lawri Wedge
I love how this little ballet flat has a dainty wedged heel. It’s a little more supportive than a completely flat shoe but just as practical. For those of you who prefer a little elevation when you’re on the go, this comfy little ped is for you. Soft leather, cushioning footbed and flexible soles. As they would say in South Africa, it’s “lekker”.
