Stretchy trouser socks with a wide band. These are my favourite trouser socks because the Swiss dot is dainty, and they seem to last a long time. I wear the black and nude with trousers and pumps or shooties, but not with boots. I prefer to wear thicker socks with boots. Also available in beige and chocolate.

As with all Commando hosiery, the dig-free waistband is extra comfortable. Read the rave reviews. Pricey, but worth it if you love to wear black opaques. Here’s the same style without the control top. Do not size up.
Ankle socks are a good solution if you don’t like to go barefoot in sneakers, workout shoes, shooties, booties and ankle boots. Plus, they can help avoid blisters when you are putting new footwear through its paces. These Zella low-profile socks with ribbed arch are soft, non-itchy and come in black and white.
I have been raving about these classic fishnet tights for years. The Oroblus are designed with a micro-sized pattern, which means that the holes are small and tightly woven, and the nylon is fine and pretty. The overall effect is more of a textured sheen. They’re not cheap at $19.50 a pair but they last and look sensational. They’ll add interest to all sorts of outfits, and would make a stylish Christmas present to treat a friend or yourself. Available in black and sable. The tights run small, so size up.
Give black micro fishnets a break and add lace tights to a skirt or frock ensemble instead. Self-colour textured hose always adds an interesting element to an outfit and you can dress down the look with the right footwear. A flop proof look paired with shorter dresses and slouch or riding boots. My favourite look for Autumn.
