(sorry i took me so long to post the results, work was brutal this week, and i ended up falling asleep on the couch last night, anyway)
i knew as soon as i read the challenge what my 1st outfit was going to be. this is a recreation of what i wore Saturday to run errands and do some shopping. many people may not think these jeans are age appropriate, but it was YLFer's, esp cocolion, who showed me that it's how you wear them that makes the difference. The jeans are paired with a fluid top, a trend i am working on, having over done it in the 80's/90's, and trying to find the right line between fluid and too big.
Outfit #2 is how i plan to wear the sweater to work, if it ever gets warm enough to wear these white cotton pants. This outfit also brings in a trend that i'm all over, pointed toe shoes! (please ignore that the pants need to be ironed)
Outfit #3 is a work FFBO, but the details in picture #5 are what i think make the difference. hard to see in the picture, but i've cuffed the pants (twice), which is what i think (please let me know if you disagree), make this outfit more modern, or at least more in line with what my younger colleagues are wearing. the shoes are totally on trend and modern, with pointy toes and metal toes cap.
my life has reached a pointed where a big night out is dinner with friends or family. outfit #4 (picture 6), is white on white with a mixed media blazer. prior to joining YLF i would have never worn white jeans with black booties, but i love this look. (i make this work for work, i use the white pants from outfit 2)
picture #7 is from last week, seasonally confused as it was 25F when i left for work, but forecasted to be 55F at 4:00. my fab bag in action!
#8 is from my archives, shown because i'm going to wear a variation of this today.
golden pig, thanks for the challenge. it was a lot of fun!
