The ramble for my own record, feel free to skip:
Day 1 - Abbey Road
What I saw was: black, white, denim, stripes. Easy
They all come together in an outfit which is exactly the same one as what I wore the day before in my Flavia series, except that I swapped the black turtleneck for the white one and I chose the striped scarf to echo the crossing.
Putting this outfit was so much fun and I actually ended up playing with my wardrobe and exploring the power of a formula. More about that in separate post.

Day 2 - Jagged Little Pill
My inspiration was based the green tones, teal being the closest thing to green I have. This turtleneck is probably on its way out of my wardrobe as the sleeves begin to look too busy to my eye, but I'm giving it one more chance as I love the colour.
"Jagged" busy jeans pockets, while polkadots stand for pills

Day 3 - Dark Side of the Moon
Black background. White light. Rainbow.
Tick. Challenge. Got some.
I wanted clean lines and chose my long asymmetric cardigan to echo the pyramid. I wore my Picasso scarf which has the most of the vibrant colours on it, so those two elements were easy.
Initially I wanted to wear white belt over the top and under the cardigan, so the white "ray" peaks from underneath, but the belt kept sliding around me and basically annoying me, so I abandoned that idea. I thought a bit more about how to introduce white to the outfit, while the clue was staring me in the eye - album title. So, I took my gigantic pearl to represent the Moon.
I also wore my black hose with white polkadots - they are now coming out for special occasions only as I haven't managed to find the replacement yet. I like how the dots echo the pearly Moon.
All in all, this feels like rather predictable outfit, but I know there's a lot of colour coming for the next two days.
I also played some Pink Floyd last night and my son instantly said "I like this". It's very interesting how he reacts to music.

Day 4
I had very colourful and very ALGO plans for today, but the weather had basically gotten in the way and I had to keep warm.
Still, I tried to stay as faithful to the vibrant colour scheme, so I have purple woollen sweater, colourful woollen scarf from Ireland and red fleece hat. Happy clothes for the cover of the album I had spent (and still do) many happy hours listening.
As I was taking selfies my son was looking at the photos from behind the camera, and then he started suggesting how I should actually pose

Day 5 - Born in the USA
I've had a long day and have spent 5 hours in the car, so I may sound quite erratic. Still, here we go.
I was looking forward to today's inspiration cover. I have many fond memories of this album, my cousin's crash on The Boss back in the mid 1980s, my own discovering of Levi's 501! What I didn't expect was getting very emotional along the way.
I have decided to actually focus on "Born in…", but as I was trying to figure out how to translate that to the outfit I was overwhelmed by the question of identity. I'm born in one country, but hold the citizenships of two others. I grew up in one surrounding, but actually became truly myself in completely different environments - and all are a huge part of who I am today, although I can't technically be from all of them. The older I am, the more I realise I can't give a simple answer to where I'm from, unless to read what's on my passports, which is not even half the answer. Not because I live in the fifth country since setting off to the world on my own, but because of the experiences of real, deep connections with the people I have met along the way, whether they were born in Uganda or Italy, Russia or Spain, India or South Africa all had one moment in common "How can we think so alike, yet come from such different worlds?"
Are our worlds really that different?
It's a lot of thinking behind creating an outfit, I am aware of it. But, that's what inspiration is about, isn't it? Becoming aware of something, capturing it and hopefully creating something new or being somehow better for it. Today's image had focused me on "Born in…" and this had led to selecting one motif which in a symbolic way represents all my places of living.
Which brings me to - About the outfit: I knew I had to use my necklace with the stars and the blue scarf and my yellow bag. What I didn't know was that there are exactly 12 stars on my necklace, same as on the flag of the European Union. I couldn't find the way of wearing easily both the necklace and the scarf... until I made the bag charm out of the necklace. Go figure! That IS one thing I'd have never thought of without today's inspiration.

Epilogue: My husband was choosing the music to play in the car this evening. He has no idea about this challenge, nor why I wore what I wore today, nor why I was so moved by the song which came up and which I've known for at least 20 years, but never before had I paid attention to the verse which says something along the lines "Your flag is the one from every place where someone's is happy to welcome you…".

Thank you bella for yet another great Picture Perfect Challenge. Each and every one leaves me with the unexpected findings, insights and beautiful memories.
