WIW: Cowboy Boots for Velma - YouLookFab Forum

Velma started a thread yesterday about wearing cowboy boots http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-wear-them
so I decided to wear mine today as a nod to her post (waving to Velma).

It’s quite cool here today so again, can’t dress super springy so my new ON scarf is my nod to spring today with its orange/blue/cream/taupe colours. I’ve tied the long scarf in a loose men’s necktie knot, popped it over my trusty black ponte knit sheath dress and topped it all with my denim jacket. I’m wearing my nude micro fishnets for a bit of leg warmth and then grounded my look with my taupe cowboy boots, which function as nude footwear. For jewelry I’m wearing a simple blue glass square beaded bracelet and am wearing my camel leather handbag to work with the boots.

I feel like an urban cowboy!

So does this look work? What do you think of cowboy boots with a dress? Proportions ok? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

This would be a tough look to carry of for some people but you make it uniquely yours! Those cowboy boots are so cute with the entire outfit. They work as well as Docs. I have always avoided most cowboy boots but in that taupe color they still make the leg look long. Fab look and very YOU!!!

I will give it a little whoop and holler too! Love the boot with a skirt - nice height for the pairing. Also your pop of color in the scarf is brightening up the dark dress perfectly.

I love it! Those boots are fantastic. Shannon, you have to stop tempting me with your footwear and bags. I only have a budget that will stand so much, especially without your fab thrift stores!!

This is a perfect Canadian spring outfit. I am really trying to learn how to bring spring in with clothing and this does the trick.

Super cute! I love the colors here, and hey I have that same scarf in green/navy I would like to see a shorter denim jacket though, would be cheekier and sassier (both of which I know you are!).

Aida - a shorter, darker wash denim jacket has been on my "to get" list for a while now. Still haven't found the right one yet though - this will have to do in the meantime.

Claire - no looks today interestingly enough. I did have one older gentleman (a stranger to me) in the hospital cafeteria tell me today though that I was "a cutie pie"! I felt about 16 years old when he said that - he was adorable.
