WIW: calf-length skirt and *gasp* horribly ill-fitting boots!

1- Wore this skirt on Monday, before I saw Angie's post on longer hemlines. All day, I kept nagging myself to remember to hem it. Now I'm confused. Does it look okay? How about the vest with this outfit? It was last seen here, and some suggested I try it with a skirt/dress.

2-3- Last seen here, where some thought I should keep my shirttails tucked. Is this version better? I also wouldn't normally have added the scarf... giving it a try.

4-5- Inspired by the khaki thread! The skirt is suede, not khaki material, but the color is what I was after. But oh. my. gosh. was I horrified when I noticed my boots slapping against my calves as I walked! Check out the huge gap... these are pre-YLF, but I don't remember them being this bad. Yikes, shield your eyes!

I think the proportions in #1 are right My favorite outfit!

Love thee midi skirt outfit (outfit #1)!!! As long as you wear heels you are in business, Rae. You added just the right amount of edge to this lady like look.

Love #1, I would leave the skirt that length since it looks so great (with heels as Angie said)! I prefer #3 sans scarf. For #4/5, can the boots be folded over at all or are they too thick? Or possibly be slouched down so the gape looks like it's part of the slouchiness?

I really like #1, I think part of why this skirt works is the heel and part is it is hitting your leg at a narrow point. Good spot on the leg. To funny about the boot gap, as we learn, our viewpoints really do change, no?

Yay, I am glad to have Angie and everyone's approval on the skirt -- less work for me!

Aida, bless you for trying to save the boots, but they do not slouch at all. They are faux suede, lined with some kind of spongy material that helps them keep shape. I guess they will go back to the Goodwill from whence they came.

Lisa, you are so right about views changing as we learn -- isn't it painful at times? lol

Rae, LOVE the first photo. I got rid of a similar-fitting pair of Steve Madden boots a while ago - cringing to think of how I wore them so cluelessly before.

I am going ga-ga over #1. It really popped out at me, just love everything about it, the proportions, the color mix. It feels Annie Hall 70s to me... and we all know I love that decade.

#2 and #3 are also perfectly pulled together and make me think of the word "crisp."

I am impressed that you do it without spending a lot. I wonder if you would ever be willing to post amount spent on your outfits?

Coco, thanks for your kind words! After reading, I posted my recent thrift purchases with the prices... Maybe I will start listing on my WIWs as well. I am lucky to live near a handful of swap meets that are kind of like Goodwill Outlets.
