I know fall clothes have been steaming up the boards lately, but....

Calling those with any boho inclinations who are battling the heat!

Despite short summers in my part of the PNW, this was a year I wanted to spend on some nicer summer wear/shoes.

While that left my always-bad Really Hot Weather casual clothing even more ignored than usual, I saw a big-scarf-as-dress display earlier this summer and thought, "hmmmmmmmm."

Once I found a print in the colors I wear I jumped, and am so glad I did.

I've been wearing the dress-as-scarf a lot -- as well as a tunic variation that allows for a bit of arm coverage/sun protection.

[Pretend tunic in photo is worn over a sleeveless mid-thigh jersey number + rolled skinny jeans or a tank + shorts. ;)]

For reference:
• this is an ~ 80 x 38 inch scarf

(directions: hold lengthwise and fold into an ~ square; then fold again into rectangle, putting folded edge to free edges; knot one corner (tying free to folded edges); unfold free edges so you can slip arms through openings*)

• with a bit of blousing, it hits above the knee on 5'4 me

• make sure your underlayer is something that offers coverage as this baby has a tendency to blow open when/if breezes hit

Photo 1: Scarf as Dress, knot near neck (belt worn to be at hips in front)
Photo 2: Underlayer dress (scarf hits at same place on 5'4 me)
Photo 3: Scarf as Dress (side shot + overlap shot)
Photo 4: Scarf as Tunic, knot worn lower on back to allow for arm coverage)
Photo 5: Scarf on hanger (knotted) to show openings for arms

* ps I am scarf-impaired and terrible at describing this knotting technique, but didn't see any tutorials at "Scarf Blogger" MaiTai's site or elsewhere (help welcome!)
