Hallo marshmallow peeps!! Thought I'd bring an Episode of Native Wear and Business Bekleidung to you today

Did y'all know, it's very interesting to do a search on "business wear" in different languages on Amazon?

Workwear Start: Leather skirt from Rack
Asymmetrical top from a hundred years ago, never wore it, all of a sudden got the urge
Faux leather trimmed blouse and cobalt jumper, straight skirt - strikes me as the only successfully Country Punk office outfit in the lot
Do I look Anime now? Wearing F21 peplum, just like TraceyLiz's. It's a top that feels nice to wear.
2013 minty stuff from spring
Cricket sweater with NAS cobalt blouse, Paige charcoal plaid jeans, and pointy flats
Native Wear Start: Maxi dress and LAMB cropped shrug (is that possible?). This received a lot of love in Hipsterville. Haha. Cross-eyes here
Fourth of July outfit
Fourth of July - jumpsuit underneath the sweater. Mum said I looked like a nurse (hehe)
LAMB shrug again and funny little dress that the ladies at the Salon/Dress shop got me to buy. Overskirt reminded me a little of the Comme des Garçons dress I missed out on
Faux leather overalls with a chambray shirt for a cold and wintery Summer Saturday
Deborah Harry summer dress. Had to get it. Had to wear it. Even tho it was cold cold cold!!

Thoughts provoked: I don't like dressing very sharp. How sharp do you like to dress?

Wow I love your eclectic style! 10 is super and they are all so fun! 3 is pretty sharp actually! I like juxtapositions of sharp and soft myself.

What a varied spectrum of outfits between the flared leather skirt, shrug and mint blazer. I have to admit my eyes don't quite 'get' the shrug but it does look fun - if that's okay to say about it. It's a small detail, but I love the barrette with your outfit in 11. Thanks for sharing your workwear/nativewear!

How fun are the LAMB shrug and Deborah Harry summer dress! Love these two pieces from Native wear.
#1, 4 and 5 are my favourites for work wear. That cobalt peplum top is sensational on you.

you have such a wide ranging style and a flair that is all you! must say, that #5 took me by surprise, its so non hipster workwear, but it looks great, and mint is a fab color on you. love the cricket sweater (showing us your preppie side), and the jumpsuit. and yes #4 does make you look a little Anime, (but in a good way)

Ok, my favorites are #3, #6, #7 and #12. Love that dress in #12 especially. The shrug is so fun. I would never be able to figure out how to wear it, so I'm living vicariously through you.

Yay, Rachy outfits!

I really love the overalls: that's the second pair of skinny overalls I've seen recently, and suddenly I feel like I've done a 180 on overalls and want a skinny pair for myself. I'm still slightly mystified by this: we'll see if a pair ever turns up. Anyway, I love the shirt you paired yours with too & the way you did your hair.

I love a lot of the other outfits too, especially with your commentary: that skirt in 1 is great. It's not Country Punk Work though? I admit to having only the haziest of ideas re: punk, but I thought it was about subverting expectations, so the very feminine shape but done in leather seems like it has punk potential. Especially with the more badass top you paired it with. The sweater in 6 seems that way too: like a traditional tennis sweater suddenly got pointy and ironic. I like how you styled it.

And of course, I love the girlier outfits like the floral blouse & peplum or that new dress. The shrug confuses me (is there an opening or is it a pull on?), which likely increases its hipster cred. lol

As for dressing sharp, usually I prefer not to. I'd rather look like a quirky likely-hippie most of the time. And most of the dressier occasions I go to, I become a quirky likely-hippie playing dress up, vs dressing sharp. Which is convenient, because it requires less work too: no iron! No blow drier! Every once in awhile, a situation or my mood seems to require sharpness. But I never feel completely at home in it.

How fun to look through your WIWs – you're a bold and adventurous dresser (say, compared to me). I love the cobalt peplum, the mint blazer, and of course the plaid jeans since I also have a pair – I guess the pair you ordered fit you to perfection. Thanks for the visual treat!

Oh, sorry. No, it would be pleather, the skirt. I'm pretty sure we don't get real leather in the Bay Area except at Neimans, where they post the armed guards to get you through the PETA gauntlet.

re. the shrug... it's a little weird to think about, but it's like the perfect answer in so many situations temperature-wise. I need someone to come out with a few of these again...

re. Native Wear... ok, my little joke: that would be native to the post-Summer of Love Bay Area. But there is, I swear, a folk dress and manner for those born and raised here, which I didn't really start to appreciate until a few years ago. Like, when I moved back and for some reason had to go knock on my new neighbor's door. We were wearing the exact same get up: Terry ear-warmer headband, craft apron... We pointed at each other and laughed.

re. cricket sweater: I'm so glad I got the cricket sweater too. That's a top-ten ever, I have to say. I love that sweater. I will cry when it gets too old and run down.

Looking at the overall: Right, so y'all know this represents a reigning in of the spectrum? Haha! I wonder if I can tighten it up a little more. It would possibly be too hard on my soul, but I feel compelled to try.

Such a treat - love looking at each one, and then looking again. I'm not sure I'm even qualified to comment on specifics but I know I like a lot of these. I especially loved your explanation of Native wear and the meeting of the neighbor.

Oh, I forgot - I was going to say the shrug is a pull-on, over-the-head affair.

Here is something else, contemplating the maxi: I have truly not appreciated it seeing it worn around in SF. However, over in Hipsterville, it feels really natural. My one neighbor pretty much lives in them and passed a whole bunch to my other neighbor... and then there were two! (lol) But it works a lot better on the street than when you're doing hippie dippie, I think, than starlet. Also it's just never warm enough in SF. And not enough vegetation.

You guys are fun! Am I maybe learning to make preppy work for me, trying to go country punk? That would be sooooo ironic. And so typical. My inputs are totally unrelated to my outputs. Like how I eat 2 oz cake and gain 5 lbs of weight. (How is that possible?)

I am undisciplined!! That is what I am learning from my photos.

Oh... I also wanted to mention the Paiges - I returned the 30s for 28s, which I'm afraid may be a wee small right now, but which I'm positive will get bigger. So I'm not going to do another exchange for a 29. Because all my pants EXPAND. I suffer from EXPANDING PANTS.
