WIW 4/18: FFBO for a tough day

I found out last night that my 90 year old mom had been taken to the hospital with a compression fracture of her spine, and then moved to a nursing facility for some physical and occupational therapy. I spent last evening with her and then went back this morning to meet with the doc. This is a favorite fast fallback outfit that got me through the hour-long drive, the meeting with the doc, and a busy rest-of-the-day at work.

Navy ankle pants: Banana Republic
Silk blouse: Emerson Made
Striped blazer: AT Loft
Ivory/navy/gold pumps: Seychelles
White satchel: Banana Republic
Studded belt: Streets Ahead

The photo isn't the greatest but thank goodness for a working closet that lets one go on auto pilot when life gets complicated!

I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom! I hope she is feeling better now, and recovering quickly. Your outfit might be a FFFBO, but it certainly doesn't look like one. You look just as smart and stylish as ever.

Oh, Mary - so sorry to hear about your mother. It is really weird but I was thinking about her (and your dad the other day). A recent visit to my own 89 year old mother must have prompted the thought -- I knew your mom must be nearing the same age and was wondering how she was getting on.

My thought are with you for your Mom.

Joy, my dad is really rising to the occasion. My mom sent him home to sleep early yesterday because he'd been taking care of her at home for a week (unbekownst to me) and then there was a whole 911/going to the hospital thing, so he was exhausted and maybe a little traumatized. But he was there bright and early this morning and promising to stay by her side, and already on top of getting home care for when she is discharged. And it was sweet because she really perked up when he got there.

He's a youngster of only 87.
